bulking with supps
I'm doing a bulk for the first time and decided to try out some supplements. I've been reading up on them and so far I've gathered that creatine and glutamine are effective supps. I just want to clear up some things. Check out my statements below and let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
1)Once I start taking Creatine I should take it everyday, even on non-workout days. It's best to take it pre workout. (What should I mix it with? Just h2o? Would you recommend the 'loading phase'?)
2)Post workout- take a Protein & Glutamine shake (with dextrose?). Then take glutamine again before bed.
Also would it be a bad idea to get supps like creatine and glutamine from the grocery store?

Hey, I'm also bulking and here is what I'm doing-
1. Creatine everyday so my body stays adjusted, I didn't do the loading phase because it can cause bloating and discomfort, I take 5mgs a day. Mine is Blue Razz flavored from GNC so I mix it with water and sometimes a lemonade SF mix in. Drink it everyday. even off days, 4week rotations.
2. Post-workout I do a protein shake with glutamine mixed in (about 5-10g depending on what I'm training that day) and 2 ALA tablets
3. I buy mine from my gym, I am good friends with the owner so he gives me a break, or I buy them onsale at GNC (ONLY ON SALE!) lol- their prices are kinda high IMO...
I hope this helps!

Hey thanks! I just bought unflavored L-Glutamine and creatine powder from the local GNC. (buy one get one 1/2 off) I think they're pretty basic products but I guess it's a good place to start. Also it doesn't say anything about the creatine being microionized, I don't know if that's a big deal or not. On workout days do you take the creatine pre or post workout? If you take it post do you mix it with your protein and glutamine shake? Also whats an ALA tablet? Thaks again

So I just talked with the owner of my gym and he's been into BB for over 20 years and he told me that I shouldn't be taking the creatine because all it does is make your muscles hold water so when I go to cut for a show next year they will just deflate when I drop water weight! Oh no! so I'm dropping that and just going with the CLA, ALA, and L-Glutamine.
How's your bulk coming along?

That guy is an idiot! Yes creatine can pull water into the muscles and yes that pump can diminish when you stop taking it. But that has nothing to do with anything!!! The point of taking creatine is to give you an edge on muscle gains. Not to just get a muscle pump and look like you've gained mass. Muscle gains do not go away when you stop taking it. Only if you stop lifting.

Split your creatine in 2 doses, 1/2 pre- and 1/2 post-workout. You can mix creatine with anything as long as it's not hot. Glutamine I take pre- and post-workout along with BA and BCAAs. I can't drink xtend so I'm looking at citrulline malate too.
On non-lifting days I take a normal pre-workout shot of everything.
