Hold the ends of the bar, palms facing in, lean back and pull down in front towards chest.

sounds like a lat pulldown
just using a different bar than the usual wide-grip one, different hand position means working different back muskules

misc has awful knowledge on bb'ing, thats the hammer grip for the lat pulldowns...targets the lower lats much similar to pulldowns with the v bar or hammer grip pull ups.
