So someone attempted to break in my house tonight (SERIOUS)
So there I was chillin at my friend Alexis' house which is about 5 minutes away from my place when I receive a call from my little brother saying he heard someone open the gate to get in our pool area. He ran downstairs to lock both of the sliding glass doors that lead inside the house from our porch which you can walk up stairs to get on from the pool. He then waited inside with a baseball bat for me to get home. My dad is away on business for the night and my mom was in bed, my little brother is 16 and was reasonably frightened.
The guy tried to open one of the sliding doors but failed thanks to my little brother locking it in time. I pulled up just in time to see the guy open the gate by the pool and take off into the woods. Being the kind of guy I am I jumped out of my car with one of my knives in hand and pursued the guy through the woods. Because it was dark, I ended up losing him somewhere between a neighbors yard and more woods. I then went home, made sure everyone was ok and drove around the neighborhood looking for anyone on foot.

A few weeks before that incident another friend who lives locally had his house broken into and jewelry, cash and computers were stolen.
The cops were called on both occasions, prints taken and no solution ever came around. Besides those 2 I know there have been a number of break-ins in the area with nobody being captured and not much of anything seeming to be done about it. All we know is it has to be someone local seeing as there has never been a vehicle reportedly involved and I f*cking chased the guy through the woods so he couldnt have gone too far.

Been a crazy few nights in NEPA, broski. Someone was scoping out my house a few nights ago, but someone is always home here, so I guess we're not the best mark. I'd called the cops on Saturday night to take a ride by, because a car crawled by 3 or 4 times around 4am when I was letting my cat out. They kept stopping up near my driveway, then they'd crawl past again. Just had parking lights on and nothing else. But by the time the cops got here, the car was gone.
Middle of the day on Sunday, we saw cops going by. (Quiet neighborhood, very little traffic, so anything unsual sticks out.) Went up the road to see what was going on... a house 2 down from mine had been burglarized in broad daylight. Smashed all sorts of ****, stole a tv, cash, jewelry, computer, and gaming systems. The police came by Sunday evening asking questions, and said they already got the kid responsible. But still, FUUUUUUUUU.
It's making me want to get a gun.

you keep knives on you?
What is the legality of keeping a knife on you?
I would like to have one just in case I have to walk through the city by myself at night, but what happens if you get caught?
Also what kind of knives do u have?

I collect various knives, swords and armor from all over the world. The one I had on me was a Smith and Wesson very similair to this:
I have various swords, some display, some hand forged and combat ready. I have a chinese broadsword that was hand made for me with a phoenix engraved near the hilt on one side and a dragon on the other, a hand made katana, a display bastard sword with gold hilt, a disply scimitar, hand made greek breastplate and backplate, Replica helmet from the movie Gladiator, all kinds of things. I've always been interested in swords and armor and even fenced for a number of years

here are some pics of the knife i actually had on me, and for the poster above: the legality of carrying a knife depends on what state you're in.

I've thought about it for a while, but have just never done so as of right now. I'm seriously considering it again now though, it never hurts to be safe, especially because one of the most recent houses that was broken into had a number of guns stolen from it

true story, i had a drunk guy walk in my house out of nowhere. i was like wtf? it was me and my brother who was around 25.. i was 17. so anyways he comes in and i told him u got the wrong house. then he comes up to me telling me that we stole his credit card, i knew he was just drunk and acting stupid so i took him outside. i told my brother to call the cops while i took him outside and dealt with it. when we went outside there was 2 girls screaming at him no idea why. (turns out in the end the girls, which are my neighbors stole his credit card since he was drunk) so he snaps at them back. i get mad cuz this guy is a dumbass and hes yelling at my neighbors. so i beat his ass. litterally 1 punch and he was down cuz he was drunk as ****. then cops came right when i did that. they seen me hit him but he had warrants on his name so they arrested him for that.
so that kinda relates to a burglary story cuz he walked in my house lol

When I hear stories like this it reminds me of those commercials on tv where the rich suburban housewife is attacked at home during the day, after her dearest son just left for school, alone and frightened what is she supposed to do. Answer buy a 3 million dollar home security device. Just for the record about 99 percent of break ins are in urban poor neighborhoods at night always male obviously.
Op why would you run after him if you corner him you give him no way out and according to the art of war that is a disasterous strategy, in this case he could have been packin.

I keep loaded guns in the house for reasons such as this. I have a loaded shotgun and a 9mm waiting to be used if I need to. I live with my girlfriend and she knows how to rack the slide on all my guns. Im more scared of her being alone and someone breaking in. There are shady people everywhere and you can never be too careful. Nobody expects anything like this to happen to them but it happens all the time. Keep a gun in the house. Teach everyone proper gun safety and teach them how to use it. Its better than a baseball bat.

I know it was foolish to run after him, but that was just my instinct and I didn't really think about it until later. Heres a few pics of some of the armor I have and one of my swords

**** the gun there is no honor in it. Nice swords ever read the book ;a book of 5 rings' by Miyamoto Musashi? D00d supposedly killed over a 1000 men with his sword. The ultimate strategist.
