    I think I broke my foot

    I don't want to go to the hospital if they're just going to tell me "Yep, you broke your foot. Stay off of it for a while".

    Has anyone else broke their foot training? What did you do about it if so?

    I'm sure I can still train BJJ but I'm pretty sure I've got to put the muay thai on hold for a week or two. This sucks.

    That's the thing, if it is broken, its just a simple fracture. Everything moves like it should, so I'm not afraid of something healing wrong. Just wondering if there's really anything the doc can do other than tell me to take it easy? I've broken my hands/fingers several times and only went to the doctor the first time to have them tell me to "take it easy" and put a popsicle stick on my finger. Waste of time.

    I know, I know... Muay Thai is very new to me, so I'm still in the evolution phase as to how to strike.

    Basically, it's off to the ouside of my foot, more in the carpal area than the metacarpal area above my two small toes.

    go see a doctor. if you want to be a hard ass thats fine, but from personal experience, just because something CAN heal on its own doesnt mean its in the correct position to heal properly. For all you know you may have just tore/stretched a tendon, thats just it, you have no real idea of what is truely wrong with your foot. go see a doctor.

    fingers and feet are different. they put broken/fractured bones in cast's for reasons

    Yeah, I realized that after I'd posted.

    Well, it's broken but nothing worth calling home to mom about. Just a hairline fracture on a useless bone anyway. Doc said to stay off it for a couple weeks and gave me some vicodin (yay). Looks like I'll be sleeping well tonight.

    Good it's just a hairline fracture, but it never hurts to make sure. I had a hairline fracture in my foot in grade school, and it did heal. The thing is that it had spurs later on, because of me not staying off of it (try telling an active 8 year old to not rough house lol). Bones tend to overstimulate healing when broken, causing excess bone growth or spurs.

    Just make sure you use the crutches they gave you, to spare the injury.

    On a side note...I didn't realize there was an MMA section here till now. I wasn't really aware of bodybuilding.co until I was researching the Olympia schedule last month, so I kind of been checking out different threads as interesting topics pop-up. Wrestled for 5 years in middle and high school. Studied muay thai and muay korat in Pattak about 20 years ago. Of course this was way before UFC and stuff, so the transition game was not as advanced.

    Anyways, glad to be here.
