im at 153-155 lbs as of now. i want to gain some more mass possibly up to 160-165 or beyond. what would you guys recommend as the best gainer and when would you take it to see maximum results?

i was in your same situation. ive tried many weight gainers and the one that worked best for me was Up Your Mass by MHP. i gained like 10 lbs in a month from that stuff. its got tons of protein and calories and something like 10 g of sugar per serving. its also inexpensive. around 40 bucks for 5 lbs.

Erm, it's not a matter of the weight gainer, it's a matter of the nutrients you receive - your diet.
Weight gainer is to simply add more cals to help with the amount of calories in your diet. It's not as filling as whole food, which can be good - so you don't feel all bloated.
But, you can use whey + whole foods to make your own, healthier, weight gainers. I.E - whey/oatmeal.
Weight gainer isn't necessary, but if you're having trouble downing whole food, then go ahead and use it - but realise the gains are not just because of taking a weight gainer.

Well first and foremost really make an effort to up your calories by eating more calorie dense foods like oils (olive, macademia, coconut etc), nuts, whole wheat pasta, lean beef, whole eggs, yada yada yada...Also, try to maximize your time in the gym so you aren't burning more calories than you need to.
If you still can't get enough calories in check out Isogainer. It's got great protein and carb sources, a low sugar content, CLA, flaxseed, and KR-ALA... it tastes awesome too.

DEF agree with this -
take a PWS with whey protein dextrose and waxymaize (oatmeal works too!)
then throughout the day if you are having a shake either buy a nice weightgainer shake or if your current protein is low carbs just add some oats or waxymaize to it..
dont worry about other supps if you're still in the beginning stages of lifting/training (keep to the basics protein, vitamins, and BCAAs/glutamine)
