Thoughts about UCF(srs)

I'm curious to see what people think about the University of Central Florida..the sports program, the school, academics..basically what you guys think about the school as a whole.

I have a general idea of what people in Florida think about the school, but im interested in what other parts of the nation think about it...or if you have even heard about it

I know very little about UCF, assume it is pretty poor athletically, and know Kevin Smith is an alum

I'm from NC and never been to Florida, so what I know about it is limited.

I just know it's a big school, poor athletics, not very selective. Better than CC though!

UCF is expanding like crazy. I think it will become a good school with in the next ten years. Also apparently they drink a lot during tailgates.

Certainly a rising football program, but as a school I've heard it's pretty mediocre.

wow..alright..not really the responses i wanted to hear..but thanks for being honest

its actually not that easy to get into..anymore at least...i know a few guys/girls that did not get in with a decent GPA's and decent SAT/ACT scores

Football program was really good two years ago when we had kevin smith...just built new football stadium and basketball arean...3rd largest school in the nation.... our football team is not doing so well right now tho...2-2 so far this season

and we almost beat UT two years ago...if anyone follows UT football you were scared that game...so dont count us out this year

we actually have some decent guys in the NFL as well

Kevin Smith- only reason he is doing poorly is because of a shiity lions O line
Joe burnet- just got drafted by the steelers
Atari Bigby
Matt Prater
Brandon marshall
Daunte Culpepper
Asante Samuel

and quite a few less known others

Figured since it's such a good sized school with mediocre academics that it's not too hard to get into, but if a million people are applying then I guess it gets tougher.

It's in a pretty bad area if I remember correctly, right?

i got accepted.. but i know a lot of people who didnt...

As long as O'leary is the HC, they are not moving in the right direction..
ive been to enough games in the past 3 years to realize that. THey were only good at one point because they literally ran Kevin Smith every play...

o'leary cant recruit worth a damn. He wont stop changing QB's. team looks undisciplined every week. Barely beat Samford

Don't take some of our posts too seriously, I'm just saying what I've heard and repeating some other peoples' opinions on the school, but I really don't have any close ties.

I'm sure as the school grows and applications rise that the alumni base will increase greatly, which is great for the school.

Its literally down the road from Winter park which is one of the wealthiest parts of Florida...but its also close to bithlo which is Hick town LOL...

Completely agree about O'leary..he sucks..no one here likes him..once he leaves our football program will be a ton better

oh and Blair witch project was filmed by UCF students...just though id throw that in....i really Love this school and i would like more people to know more about it..seeing as it is not well known simply cause our sports programs are not top tier

naw i live off campus...Pegasus point is like right down the street from me tho...dont know too much about the apartments tho..were they nice??

I had a good scholarship to go there, decided not to go because I wanted to stay in NY but never visting it I was told, Tons of hot girls, average academics, big classes, poor sports program, expanding and becoming more respected as years go by.

thats great to hear..thanks for the input man...classes are big the first two years..but as u get into your major they get pretty small..same for most universities i assume
