Is it ever OK for a man to hit a woman?

Some idiot in another thread thinks this and claims there are women that agree with him.

His example was if his sister was violent in the house that it would be OK for him to give her a beating to teach her a lesson.

Also as a follow up question. Do you think this would stop the violence or just create more of it?

there's a big difference between beating someone once to teach them a lesson and a pattern of abuse

the difference is that one individual is open to dialogue and reason, but will use violence as a measure of last resort. The other individual isn't open to the former.

There is no way this will end well.

I had to laugh at the person who called you out for posting in the fem side and calling you a white knight for the following reasons:

A) he too posted in the female side.

B) how exactly does that make you a white knight?

C) the white knight term has to be one of the stupidest terms used on this site. I see that and automatically dismiss the poster as a moron.

I don't think women deserve equality if we can't hit them, I know how bad this sounds but surely you see the point - woman want equal rights, well we can hit men without being greatly frowned upon sometimes so why not women? I have never hit a female and I doubt I will, but if a girl went to hit me or properly attack me I would hit her.

Ok, I dont think it would teach her anything and she would then become a victim. If its two girls and one beating the sh@@ out of the other maybe you should try to stop it and if hitting her is the only way I think thats ok, but not like beating them just to teach them a lesson.
