Sorry to hear about the issues with depression.
You're right. What YardGorillia is ignoring is that it's a correlation.
It would be the very same if psychologists said, "We've found a correlation between guys who feel ugly as sin and their happiness levels".
Sure, there are complex factors at work when it comes to defining someone's happiness, and there may be ugly guys who are very happy, but the correlation is a fact and it's not absurd to suggest a causal link between the two factors.

No.
Re-Read my post and loose the baggage of your broken past and bias out of the conversation.
"It is a broad sweeping generalization that does in one form or another apply to a large number of people" is what I said.
Variable being the exception to the rule, ummmmmmmmmmm, if it's a variable, it isn't a rule. It is a determining factor in the creation of a theory or rule.
BTW, did you diagnose your own depression?Gay Friendly(no homo)-/Black Friendly(no racist)-/Hick Friendly(no inbred)

Oh, no problem. I am not here to mince words and play patty cakes if someone who disagrees with me. Although, being that he essentially takes your side, I am not surprised by your WHITE-Knight Defense of him. How SWEET, Cute.
Edit: don't twist the somehow implied symantics of his inability to articulate whatever the hell he was trying to be clever and say. Let a grown asss man who is a stranger defend his own logic or their lack of.Gay Friendly(no homo)-/Black Friendly(no racist)-/Hick Friendly(no inbred)

Dating websites like Plenty of fish or whatever. Problem is, that most chicks who have low self esteem have it for a reason, they aren't pretty.
**** makes sense and knew this since I met women with low self esteem. As soon as a guy says "beautiful", a low self esteem girl is all over that, they feed off comments. Hell some even put up with abusive relationships because they feel they can't do better. Truely sad. Best to just stay away from low self esteem girls.| ♫Audiophile♫ | To ∞ & → | The Ohio State University Alumni |

I believe this study, every slut bag ive ever dated has been the most self conscious, low self esteem and very insecure females even though they were hot. One even told me she slept around because it made her feel "attractive, and better about myself" even though the guys were total *******s or abusive.

It's not relative actually. An attractive man with game is a better genetic specimen than an unattractive man without game. That's why women's minds are wired to find them more attractive - the badboy provides better genes than the wussy.
Plenty of attractive men lower their standards when hooking up short term. They do not, however, lower their standards when it comes to long term relationships.

You can tell who has low self esteem.
-Poor eye contact
-Either very concered about their body or not
-Speaks about themselves in negative manner
-Gets a rush from attention
Seriously you can tell if someone has low self esteem in fives talking to someone. Its how they present themselves.| ♫Audiophile♫ | To ∞ & → | The Ohio State University Alumni |

What are you talking about? Most women don't have low self esteem because they sleep around and are called whores, they have it because of other issues e.g. lack of friends, body image, lack of love etc...
Whore/slut are things soceity say about women to keep them in check so they don't go through every man on earth 3x.| ♫Audiophile♫ | To ∞ & → | The Ohio State University Alumni |

its all subjective data: attractive, ugly, low self esteem, high self esteem.. the characteristics of the person being identified as such are going to affect the data, many people lie.. its just soft science...
I agree with what you say from a common sense perspective but those things really cant be validated to my satisfaction to call it fact, as the OP did...
"gets a rush from attention" ? how do you verify that?.... its just science based on subjective data, its inherently flawed..When you're down by the sea and an eel bites your knee, thats a moray.

Actually, no.
What if that "bad boy" had a history of cancer, heart disease, etc in his family? What if he carried the gene for sickle-cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, leukemia, muscular dystrophy, etc? Not many scientists' idea of a prime genetic specimen.
With all the plastic surgery, exercise information, PUA crap etc anyone can learn to look good and shoot game - even the ugly ones with horrible genes.
I still fail to see how your point still holds water.domari nolo

You can't prove low self esteem, I guess. But they also can't yet prove things like depression either. They have ideas that its a chemical imbalacnce, but when someone is diagnosed with depression, they don't test them. They go by the common symptoms, as such they do with someone with low self esteem. By your logic any studies about depression would be void too. Some mental things can't be proven man.

nothing is strongly empirical that requires test subjects to subjectively describe their "feelings"... feelings and specific emotions can be defined, but only softly.. you even get into a language issue with participants having to put specific language on their subjective "feelings".

they are void as fact... they are the best we can do though and im not bashing psychology, people just need understand the difference between hard sciences like chemistry/biology vs human sciences. Were still far from understanding how the mind works and how modern consciousness evolved... I need to run to work, interesting convo though... take care guysWhen you're down by the sea and an eel bites your knee, thats a moray.
