Stairmaster
Is stairmaster good for shaping your glutes or is it more beneficial to just stick with the classics like squats, lunges, and deads? ( I don't mean to only do stairmaster but to add it to my exercises).

I did stairmaster 1x a week over the summer. Ran in the neighborhood over the weekend. I had to drop the stairmaster on my nonlifting day during the week due to my daughter's late class on that day. I want to pick it back up when her class is over as it's a great workout. Especially for HIIT/intervals
3x week for 20-30 minutes is good. As you feel comfortable you can walk sideways and backwards too.

I can't separate out results from lifting and the stairmaster. But stair climbing, bleacher running, etc. is known to help build up the lower body. Plus it's a very good cardiovascular workout. Usually my legs are what holds me back on it, not my cardio vascular conditioning.

I like to do the stairmaster/stairstepper for cardio on a day that I dont work legs. I push myself intensly on leg day, then have another "leg" workout from the stairstepper another time when my legs arent completely obliterated. IDK if theres any science behind it but it makes sense for me.

Ass courtesy of StepMill,
I do the Stepmill (stairmaster) usually 3 times weekly as part of my routine. I do a full body workout 3 times a week. I do, however, do the Stepmill first instead of after my weights, because I wouldn't be able to do it afterwards.
I go up sideways a couple of times on each side during the 20 - 25 minutes, and do 2 - 3 HIIT intervals during each session too. It's certainly made a difference in the size/shape & lift of my ass, I'll tell you that!
I love that thing. My YMCA where I work out, only has 1 of these, so I hate it when somebody else is on when I get there!
I just got a weight vest a little over a week ago, so the last couple of sessions have been done with an additional 15 lbs. on me. Yes, I'm crazy!
Ass courtesy of: Step Mill, Hack Squats, Leg Press, Leg Curls, stiff legged deads, and Smith Machine lunges! :)
