OT: Gift for girlfriend (for an upcoming musical)

Hey ladies,

My gf recently got the lead as Maria in west side story. To celebrate, I want to take her out for dinner and give her a little gift package. When she got the lead as Sandy (from Grease) last year, your advice was really helpful in putting something together.

Last year, I got her:

-a pink t-shirt that said pink ladies
-pink slippers
-pink pom poms
-some pink candy
-etc

I want to put a similar package together, possibly incorporating things she can use on stage during her performance. I'm not too familiar with WSS, so I was hoping you ladies could help with some ideas

ZOMG it's CF! I was going to PM you personally, since you were the one who came up with most of the brilliant ideas last time...but I wasnt sure how frequent you're on the boards anymore

Pretty sure im going to rent it and just watch it...that is if I can find time between 35-40 hours of lecture a week lol

Well, the rival gangs in WSS are the Jets (American) and the Sharks (Puerto Rican), so you might be able to do something with that.

Maria wears a black headscarf later in the story so you might be able to get your girlfriend a scarf that she could wear onstage? I don't think I can post a link as I haven't got enough posts yet, but if you put "west side story maria scarf" into a Google image search and scroll down to the bottom of the first page of results, there's a picture of a girl in a red dress with a black scarf on her head, to give you a visual.

The choreography is incredible, so perhaps something related to dance, too?

The scarf idea may actually work. I borrowed the musical from the library and plan to watch it this week. hopefully, I can get some more ideas.

Worse comes to worst, i could always just get her the DVD and sound track...i just like these gifts to be a bit more sentimental
