persinally, when i use heavy weights, block or round (i have the bowflex DB's thats one adjustible set, and trust me i dont want to drop them either) i usually kick my knees up till they touch the DB's after im done with my set and roll back up into a sitting position, its relativelly easy to do and the DB's just sit on your legs so no bouncing or breaking or throwing or dropping of the DB's, hope it helps althoug im sure someone else might have already said it

this is the technique i use... i never understood dropping the weights (unless you were going to failure at some gym and were a pro in some way so that you dont injure yourself trying to get those 160lbs DBs up without dropping them...)

It is nigh impossible to set up w/ the dumbbells on the ironmaster superbench at an incline. Nigh impossible.

Do you mean a decline? I have no problem with incline. Decline you can't do because you have to lock your legs in the crunch attachment which requires you use your hands. You can't do that when you have dumbbells in them.
What problem do you have on incline? I can't picture it.

The powerhooks do work well with the IM dumbbells. I use the powerhook/IM dumbbell combination frequently and it really saves my shoulders.

I knee them up
when I do my last rep, I keep them up, bring the knees up, put the DB's back on them, and let the weight rock me forward
I never drop DB's
but I use weight I can control too
If you can actually lift the weight, you should be able to do this
just don't end the set in the bottom position

The 90 degree seat.... I'm getting more used to it, but honestly I still hate it.

You will. That bench rules. I love mine. I have a Powertec bench also and I was sliding on it and it drove me nuts. No sliding on the IM. I also like the no seam for flat bench.

If it's possible, you can loop a chain from the powerblock to a barbell above you or a horizontal bar of the weight machine frame. Make it so the slack gives out just a fraction past the lowest part of the movement. If you can't do that you can put bags of sand on the ground to throw them on, someone said to use pillows but i found it didn't cushion it good enough, I found sand to be the best shock absorber. Whatever you do don't strain yourself holding on to them before throwing them, that's how I screwed up my wrists.
