Do overhand grip pullups work your forearm muscles?

I was just thinking... since barbell overhand grip curls work your forearms alot, would overhand grip pullups work your forearms?

    Thanks!

So do underhand chins. And even normal curls.

Not really a good comparison. In pullups, if you're doing them correctly, the hands are only hooks by which the lats do all the pulling work. Hell, you can even use a thumbless grip to minimize arm involvement and crank out just as many. People who use forearms to pull are not getting the most out of the exercise as a lat builder.

In barbell over hand curls, forearms are forced to do the majority of the work because they are the main muscle being stressed. In pullups - they don't have to be.

In short, don't bank on pullups as a forearm builder. Grip training, wrist curls, reverse curls, & their variations are superior.
