replacement exercise for kick backs?
I know they are awesome for triceps but can they be replaced, and if so by what exercises? Kickbacks hurt my back and elbows. Also cause my scrotum to itch. Need advice?

Should protein shakes be mixed with milk or water?
Never mix protein shakes with milk, unless you dont have casein protein...
Milk contains different type of protein than whey protein so they counteract with each other and are digested at different times. Some protein would not get into your system and the rest would need few good hours to be digested.

No! They can NOT be replaced. Kickbacks are teh squats of tricept exercizes. Also like curls; KBs should be done in the curl rack for teh hyooge test release. Put some chalk on your scrotum, this will stop the itching.

Weighted Ball Side Bends should do the trick, as seen in the exercise guide. An "alpha" triceps movement if there ever was one...

first of all, it all triceps, there cable pushdown, overhead extension, bench dips.the kick back is great, have you tryed to lean over and place one hand on a chair, or up right bench, if it hurt to do, go ligher on the wieght and just do more reps.
I'm studing to be a personal trainner for those with problems, like yours, you can e-mail me if you need more help.

Kennedy, if you ever hear of me doing something like this, reach through your monitor, and punch me in the face. Twice.

Last time somebody told me that, I wound up buying a new monitor.

You can try replacing kickbacks with the lying DB triceps extension for a while. When you're lying down remember to point your elbows a little beyond 90 degrees (straight up) to around 105 to 135 degrees, this way you will maintain constant tension throughout the full range of the exercise. This exercise can also be done unilaterally like kickbacks if you're worried about a dominate arm taking over.
Kickbacks is a basic exercise, and if you are having trouble with it you should first check your form. The elbow can point slightly up, but make sure they are not flared out too far since this can add stress to the joint. Also excessive weight can throw you off balance and cause you to round your back. The same technique you would use to stabilize your core for a squat or overhead lift, use here. You will feel the weight of the exercise in your upper back and shoulder area, but you don't want it to go any further than that.
Not sure if you are serious about your itching problem. Chances are, it is unrelated to kickbacks, but if it gets worse have it checked out in case you need an antifungal.

Hi guys... I read this forum on a daily basis, but I don't post up much, mostly because I'm too new to lifting to actually give useful advice. I pretty much just read and try to figure out what works and what is "theory" or "broscience".

Hai! Well, if you're looking for "broscience," you've come to the right place. If you can't find enough of it to suit you in this forum, I'd urge you to jump on over to the "workout programs" forum.

Try this: hang upside down and do a tricp kickback. The blood rushes away from your balls and they won't itch.

lol@the sheer randomness of the replies in this thread..in all seriousness though kickbacks are a decent exercise to finish off your tricep routine..just do DB extensions as a replacement.
