Carbs for cutting...sweet potato vs. brown rice

I guess oatmeal could also be added. So far I've been doing sweet potato and brown rice throughout the day in 1/2 cup servings, 70-80g on low carb days, 150g on high carb. I'm just wondering, which carb is more effective for cutting? Or should I be consuming both, just at different times?
I cut out dairy and bread from a pretty clean diet to begin with. I'm cutting out rice cakes this week. Leaves me with brown rice, sweet potatoes and oatmeal.

Any help is appreciated, I'm 6 weeks out, about 4 pounds to go (maybe)

I was always under the impression that you would want to take out the starchy carbs on a cut in loo of whole grains. They(starches) tend to be in the realm of more of a bulk diet IMO.

    ^^^

yeah, your title threw me off. if you're cutting, the starchy carbs are prob the easiest place to ditch cals while keeping your protein up.

maybe more details are in order. how many cals/day and how many are you cutting. also, example diet...

You don't need to cut out any of it. As long as you're following your daily macros, it's not going to make a bit of a difference. The only thing you need to be careful with is eating too much fruit because of the natural sugar...but again, you don't need to cut it out completely.

People are way too misinformed when it comes to contest prep. They cut all these foods and there is no need to.
