    Strange noise from knee.

I've been hearing this crackeling sound coming from my knee when I bend . I can't feel it but I can hear it ,it's pretty loud . If I put my hand on my knee when I bend it feels like it is coming from the knee cap area right under the skin. Anybody ever hear about this or experience this before ?

Ask a doctor. Anything we tell you would be a guess and would likely be a false diagnosis.

My knee dislocates a lot, and I hear that sound sometimes plus a "squooshy" sound from my knee cap grinding in the socket.

In my case, the cap has worn away enough at the socket that a bump in the wrond direction causes my knee cap to slide out and leaves me writhing in pain until I knock it back in.

I have what the OP describes in both knees. It doesn't hurt at all, but it sure sounds gross. It's been that way as long as I can remember, so I don't worry about it.

I guess if you really want to know, it's time for some x-rays and maybe an MRI.

I have cracking in both knees, although one is worse than the other. I had it looked at while I was having other knee issues and was told mine is caused by the patella not tracking correctly.

GreenWave is right. If you want a true diagnosis, go see an Orthopedic Dr.

But I'll add my 2 cents...

If it doesn't cause you pain, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
It very well could be tendinitis in the patella tendon. It's common to have/get as
    we get older.

But again, if you're really worried or it causes you pain, go see a doctor.

Two more creaky knees here, much to the amusement of my osteopath.

No pain, no problem, so I'm going to leave them alone.
