Failed my 1st exam...
So I found out I failed an exam pretty badly. There will be 3 more throughout this semester.
Should I drop the class and save my GPA?
(I wont have it as a distraction, and I wont have to worry about scoring 85's on my other exams just to get a C in the class). If I score anything lower I will fail the class.
Should I stick with the class and see what happens?
(Give myself a slim chance to pass the class, and prepare myself to take it next semester)
This is the first test Ive failed so I am unsure what to do...HELP MISC!

Drop it unless you really need it.

Post the grading outline (total points/for what) so we can see what chances you have. Tell the professor that you did poorly on the first test because you didn't prepare yourself well enough and ask them if there will be chances for extra credit.
Even if they didn't plan on giving extra credit, sometimes they will do it if they feel that people need it badly enough.
And, why did you fail? Did you just blow it off? If you actually studied and still failed, then just save time and drop it. If you know you can do well if you try then stick with it. You'll save money that way. Unless money isn't an object to you.

Ask your teacher for advice and lets see what she tells you. That's what i would do.

Stick with it, it's the first test, I bombed my first math test but i'm going to try and stick it out by going to tutoring and ****. (Yes, horrible at math)

as previous poster said, post the grading scheme for the class and what you got on your 1st exam
also, talk to your professor about it and say you weren't feeling good and see if you can get extra credit by doing extra work.
some profs do care and will at least try to help or give you suggestions.
but again, post the grading scheme

Some professors can be quite forgiving. If you prove that you are capable of achieving great grades on your final three exams, then your professor may weigh them more than your first one.
That being said, I'd drop the course. Next time, study for your exam.

Problem was that I studied for the exam and still failed. If I didnt study and failed I wouldve stayed with it.
I mentally defeated myself by studying and failing (plus, I never been to college before so failing took a toll on me).
