Cotto will beat Pacman

Anyone else think this? I got a feeling Cotto will win Pacman thus no superfight between Mayweather and Pacman. Most of yall might disagree now but if he wins ill revisit this thread lol

If you watch the Clottey vs Cotto fight.....you'll change your feeling of Pacquiao losing real quick. Go to Youtube. Both were so much slower, and no way Cotto can handle the speed of Pacquiao.

The key to speed is TIMING...Cotto is a well bred boxer since he was a kid he has faced many style of fighters. Pacman never had an amateur background he just turned pro at 16 years old and weighing 98 pounds fighting grown men. Give me the guy who has the educated background in boxing over a fast brawler with no classical technique like Manny.

Cotto has faced faster and stronger guys, he beat zab judah and shane mosley he was able to counter their speed well with his timed punches.

I know Pacman is fast and ive seen that fight this aint some nooby who just watched 1 fight and thinks he knows what hes on about. Weight being the main factor i think Cotto will take this.

Im a fan of the pacman though aswell as Cotto so its a win win situation for me as long as its a great show

Yea he will

I don't understand all the people who say Pac will win. He has no chance. He can't handle Cotto's power. Cotto is a bull and he also knows how to box

In order to beat Cotto you got to do what Margarito did. Manny can't handle Cotto's clean hard shot's like Margarito, dude's a steal wall

Cotto v.s Mayweather

a true ww fight and challenge for Mayweather

Yea

It's funny cause the public is all hyped up about the pacman, most of them do not watch boxing but they are all hyped up an think he is a phenom. At my work this white chick was telling me "you know pacquiao will be that mayweather jr?" I asked her "why do you say that?" "Because he went from 106 pounds all the way to 147 and he is a humble man and Mayweather is a jerk" lol

I guess it is because when Mayweather came back, he became flavor of the month. In the last 3 fights of Manny, all 3 said "he's too fast". I give credit where credit is due, Mayweather put on a clinic against Marquez. He didn't lose a step. Now after saying that, if Manny and Floyd do meet and have that mega-fight were everyone wants to happen, Floyd won't be able to do that little stunt by stick his head out like he did to Marquez. Floyd will finally fight someone that will truly match his speed as well and has excellent footwork.

Many people think he's overrated because they have no idea what they are talking about. It's pretty hard to be overrated when you've won world titles in six weight divisions. What's next? Are people going to start saying Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are overrated?

You're not overrated if you're the best, and Pacman clearly is the best p4p fighter in the world right now.

And as for Pacquiao/Cotto.....................Pacquiao is going to KO him inside 10 rounds, mark my words. People keep saying that Cotto is too big for Pacman. Well, they said that about Oscar and Ricky Hatton, and looked how those two fights played out.

All we need to do here is look at the two fighters past two fights:

Miguel Cotto: A loss to Antonio Margarito, and a razor-thin decision win over Joshua Clottey (NOTE: I'm not going to include the Michael Jennings fight, because he was nowhere near a top 10 level Welterweight when Cotto fought him in a tune-up.)
Manny Pacquaio: Two stoppages over Ricky Hatton and Oscar

Yup. No way Cotto wins this fight. He's just too shop-worn (I won't say shot yet) and if he decides to engage and sit in the pocket and trade with Pacman, it's going to be a short night's work for Manny. And I'm not even a fan of either man. Just trying to be realistic here.

Not to mention his china-chin. He's been rocked by the likes of Demarcus Corrley, Zab Judah, and Ricardo Torres. Not to mention Margarito KO'd him. When was the last time Manny was KO'd? You're right on the money with your pick. Unless Cotto utilizes his jab, and moves effectively, there's no way I can see him winning this fight. Manny is just too awkward, fast, and powerful for Cotto even at 147lbs. It won't be as bad as the Ricky Hatton beat-down, but Manny will KO Miguel Cotto. That much I am sure of.

The only way Cotto is gonna beat Pacquiao is too stick a pair brass knuckles inside his gloves. People are quickly forgetting how Pacquiao is so fast. I mean in his last 3 fights, not only he completely improved and not even the same fighter as he was before, but the biggest glaring common factor was the other fighters admitting "he's too fast".

Well I guess it's only fair, seeing as Margarito most likely had plaster inside of his when Cotto got KO'd.

Regardless, Manny is gonna' put a hurting on Cotto. He better learn some defense *really* quickly if he even wants to stand a chance.

People just keep mentioning over and over that Marquez really beat Pacquiao on their last fight. IMO, it was close but that knock down on the first round was the difference. Of course DLH is gonna say that cuz he's Marquez promoter. How quickly he forgets how Manny made him and his team say literally "I quit". They threw in the towel...now that is saying something when considering DLH was a multiple champion and one of the greatest in boxing history. And also Manny, being a champion is just not about the money but also being a gracious, appreciative and respectable champion. He always gives his opponents their props and he never will talk bad or mean spirited about them. That is why many boxers always say "Manny is such a nice person". Manny does play the real true people's champion.

While what you're saying is true, Oscar was severely weight-drained in that fight. He just couldn't pull the trigger. No taking anything away from Pacquiao, but that was easily the worst version of Oscar I've ever seen. When he fought Floyd at 154lbs, he looked a lot better.

And Manny put an exclamation point to Hatton. I mean I thought when Hatton got knocked out, I thought he was put into a coma.

I was overjoyed when the ref waved the fight off. (I've always felt Hatton was a fraud, and he was exposed against both Manny and Floyd) Once he didn't get up after about five minutes or so, I gotta' be honest: I was starting to get worried for his health. Sure, I wanted Hatton to get beaten in the worst way, but I didn't want to see him get killed. That was one of the most devastating knockouts I can ever recall seeing. Cotto better be prepared.

i'm a fan of both fighters and im excited for this matchup. But i think pac will win a decision against cotto. i dont think he'll win as decisively as he has in his past 3 fights. this will be a war.

cotto has the power, technical skills and the chin. pac has the speed, stamina and the better coach.

Cotto has NO head movement and pac will be able to get shots in. Cotto will coming forward and get caught coming in.

pac needs to stay on the outside and not stand and trade. otherwise cotto will wear him down.

Answer this. What versions of DLH and Hatton were better, DLH @ 154 that mayweather faced, or a DLH @ 147 2 years later that Pacquiao faced.

What version of Hatton was better, an undefeated Hatton Mayweather faced or a HAtton pacuqiao faced?
Mayweather fought the better version of DLH

Hatton is debatable. Mayweather fought him at 147 which is obviously not hatton's best weight. On the other hand, Pacquiao fought Hatton at 140 but his confidence was not same as when he was undefeated.

Anyway the reason why Pacquiao is considered the no. 1 p4p today is because

1. mayweather retired
2. his wins against the great lightweights.. mab, EM, JMM
3. the way he beat DLH and hatton. He moved up from 135 to 147 then back to 140. Thats unheard of.

btw pacquiao fought the better version of JMM

You're not overrated if you're the best, and Pacman clearly is the best p4p fighter in the world right now.
Video evidence on why Pacman is not on Mayweather Jr's level and proof to back up why Cotto will KO Pacman if he catches him flush.

JMM vs Pacman

the same JMM vs Mayweather

Pacman dropped by a soft jab and saved by the ref

Pacman knocked down by a lesser fighter
