Please, let this be a thread with serious questions only.... i know the title invites flamers but could you guys find another thread as i need help.
Ok, basically i need to improve my appearance, drastically. Now that is very vague i know, but for those who havent seen me, or my face, here is a link to my picture thread http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=871577 I know some of the facial pics arent good, so if anyone wants a better photo, just post and i will attach.
Anyway, some areas i think that needs major work is removing pimples. i actually touched up a photo of mine, and removed all my pimples, and sent it to a girl, who hasnt met me before, and she said i looked hot. then i was honest and sent her the orginial and said 'the first one you look heaps better'. and i know that my pimples is the main problem. so what are the best methods for cleaning up the face? i am currently using PHsiohex. but i cant take anything with tablets, and i kind of want to be able to purchase it in a chemist. so what are good products/methods?
Another thing is my hair. I can style it into a couple styles, such as mohawk, or a wave-like fringe, but thats it. what are some good styles? also i am getting blonde tips soon, and i am wondering, do i go just straight blonde or try and get different shades of blonde tips?
I am currently working on my physique, so dont need help there.
Also, i think a main downfall is my hunchback. does anyone at all know anytthing about improving it? making it not as hunch?
Naturally i have a monobrow. so i pluck it. thats not a big deal. the big deal is that one day when i was younger i shaved it, and umm, i kind of shaved 1/4 of my eyebrows with it. so my eyebrows look weird cos the hair where i shaved hasnt fully grown. i know this is a long shot but is there any way to replace the hair where i shaved?
Now i know if i improve my look, my confidence will improve and my life would be better. i just know it. i want to be a personal trainer/sport trainer in the future, and i dont want to be one looking the way i do. and i am hopfully going to work in sport retail for a year, and i want to be better looking by then. and i know i would act more confident around girls i dont know and that.
Like girls that know me, im friends with, say i am cute, but not hot. and im pretty sure random girls dont think the same. but somehow, i have a good personailty, and girls point that out. like a couple girls who have had crushes on me :S said that they loved my personailty and how nice, funny, how they can be themselves blah blah. now if i could only match that personality with looks, i would be soaring with confidence.
So if anyone can help, that would be the best. and if you notice anything else bout me that needs improving, post it and try and help me. also, like i said at the start, can you try and not flame me. im trying to improve confidence, and flames would only bring me down....
thanks in advance

First off i would sayy dont dye your hair any color. Keep it natural. 2nd look at male model pics and celebrity hair and think of what would suit you. Go to a good salon with a picture and have them fix you up.
3rd, for your acne try acne.org they have a good regimen. mine is slightly modified and using a little more expensive products so if your interested in knowing about that PM me. it cleared me up from having almost worse acne then you to being almost completely clear in about 3-4 months.
Anywya keep lifting, i duno what to do about your hunchback besides try standing up straight and keep your shoulders in line with your body when you stand/walk, this will also make you look more confident.
Working out and building muscle will help to reduce it as well because it fixes your posture. build up your shoulders/traps especially to reduce the hunch.
Style is important to, check out gq forums, thats what i did recently to get some ideas.

your facial pose makes you look like doctor evil from Austin Powers...might want to change that...
ways to alter your appearance:
figure out what hair style suits you...i went through a phase of unshaven and longish hair...when i went back to my old school johnny unitas high and tidy i realized that suits me much better. so that's what im sticking too
skin: if your acne is bad go to a dermatoligist. you'll get a perscription for roaccutane which is the best one out there for clearing up your skin (some possible side effects though)
TAN: everybody looks better with a tan. tan will minimize the appearanc of pimples
clothes: really a matter of personal opinion so i wont go there
posture: slouched shoulders, bouncy walk, head down. NO NO. reeks of low self esteem and is bad for your back
chest out (without looking too forced)shoulders back, chin up and eyes ahead..this also adds an inch or two if you feel you're on the short side.
Lift: well it should be blindingly obvious seeing as we're on a bodybuilding board but you never know....Last edited by stone fox; 08-15-2006 at 05:49 AM.

building up his traps and shoulders will only make the hunch worse. need to work on the BACK.
i walked with a slouch when i was younger due to over training traps and shoulders while neglecting the back. i only realized it when a "grooming specialist" (former model) came to our school and told us to walk and basically had to pin my shoulders back to get me to walk properly.
it's actually quite tiring at first but keep practicing and it will eventually become second natureFor the great Gaels of Ireland

Theres a few things that can be done that will elevate your looks and appearance. Some are cheap and non-invasive, while some arn't and will take time.
-Clean skin will do wonders man, get the acne taken care of and start using facial scrubs and moisturises, makes you look younger and more youthful. A tan would help too.
-Good hair style. I got long hair cause it suits my face shape, i found i get more looks with long hair. I wouldn't go asking a salon for advice coz they will most likely push you to go for the "girlish emo/metro-sexual hairstyle" that never should have taken off. Look at Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, David Beckham etc for a good hairstyle.
-Get in shape and buy nice clothes that fit nicely on your body, none of that 50 Cent style XXXL tops. Get one ear ring in your left ear lobe. I got a hoop in mine(pirate style hahahha).
-Facial hair. If you got it, style it nicely. Sideburns till just below the ear lobe and a thin trimmed goattee. Keep it short as it looks alot cleaner. I use electronic clippers to style it then a Mach3 to shave around it.
-Carry yourself well. This goes more along with posture and emmiting confidence in your presence. Back straight, hands by the sides, chest out and shoulders broad(don't flare your lats though hahahha). Don't be afraid to use your personal space around you. Use your hands whilst talking, lean back into your chair at a cafe, stand tall, speak slowly but deeply, don't be frantic.
All this **** will go a long way, but its upto you in the end.

I would try and see a chiropractor for a checkup if you seem to have concerns with your spine/posture.
also how tall are you and what are your goals?
I'm a short guy, i'm about 5'7 and trust me putting on muscle will give any short guy guaranteed confidence.the more famous you get, its very important to keep your ego as low as possible.

Okay, for your eyebrow issue. Go to a local CVS, Walgreens, Brooks, Rite Aid, whatever. Get yourself a nice dark brow pencil from the cosmetics aisle. Go home and practice with it. You'll notice that it really isn't as obvious or noticable as you expect, if you learn to do it correctly.
Next, go to a salon and have those eyebrows waxed and thinned. JUST get your brows done for now. You will like them better thinned out and narrower.
Have you found a good bulking routine yet? I haven't read the thread, and I'm not going to, I'm asking you the question here. I don't honestly think that bulking will change your self-esteem that much, but the accomplishment will help, I think.
You and these guys here are over-stating your "chin problem" significantly. It won't matter once you clear up that acne, and you get your brows trimmed, and find a nice hairstyle for yourself. Confidence can overcome the VERY MINOR issue of a "weak chin" in the majority of women's minds. The longer I studied the picture, the less important the chin looked. You've got a good personality that comes through in your body language even with your low self-esteem, and THAT is what you need to cultivate.
Exaggerating your minor faults into massive life-altering boulders is part of your problem.
The chin is noticable, but nowhere near overwhelming.
The eyebrow shaving incident is not noticable at all, perhaps it is somewhat up close. Get those trimmed and thinned, and no one will ever be the wiser, especially if you apply just a tiny bit of pencil (and I don't even think that will be necessary once they're waxed and trimmed).
Your acne is really the biggest issue you have, and there are many products that are available to help with that. Look up Proactiv, check out the websites given in the thread, etc.
But really, you need to learn not to exaggerate your issues. The whole acne thing has made you obsess about every little flaw you have as if they were all glaring, insurmountable red klaxons on your face. Which is quite simply not true.

1. Tan. It helped me get rid of acne, but it is only a temporary solution and only works ok.
2. Go to acne.org. Tons of information there, find what works for you best. I wash my face about 5-6 times a day, and I take tetracycline and benzomiasin or some crap. Also, make sure your teeth are white and straight. I had braces for 4 years, and used whitening strips once I got them off. Now I brush my teeth 2 times a day.
3. Lift weights. I just got into this a little while ago, but it has improved my confidence tremendously. I was a fat 215 lbs at 5'10" and am now 5'11" at 158. Because I have slight gyne, I am cutting to sub 10% before a bulk, but I'm not here to talk about myself.
4. Wear tight shirts to make you appear bigger. Don't wear baggy shirts, baggy jeans are ok.
5. I prefer a short haircut and just gel it and mess with my hair a little bit.
6. Shave all facial hair at least every two days to keep your pours clean. It may hide your acne a bit, but it's not attractive to see peach fuzz. Wait until it thickens a bit, then you can go with a scruffy look.
7. Don't look into surgery, ignore those posts, you're young and don't need to worry about surgery. I want to get surgery for my gyne (but then I realize it's minimal and if I lost more weight, I would look better.)
8. Go places that chicks go to get facials or whatnot to clean up your face. I know several guys that do this, I am not one. Get manicures and pedicures if you want. I don't do it, but try and get cleaned up as nice as possible. Get eyebrows plucked or whatever too. All maintenance to make yourself better. There are a ton of places out there.
I use to be a fat ugly looking dude, pasty white, and had chins, and a pimply face. After tired of having no confidence, I invested a lot of time in making myself look better, doing above what I said. I used to be depressed and thought about killing myself because of this, and I grew into some feature and my facial hair has started to fill in also. (I have scars from acne on the side of my face, so I prefer a scruffy look, but can't keep it long because my acne will flare up so I have to shave.) Here's what I look like now.
I wish I had an old pic to show you how much better I look, because I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror because I thought I was so damn ugly. I wouldn't look at myself for weeks and even months without a shirt off.
Edit: Don't ask me why I have crazy eyes like that in the first pic. I'm not sure what the **** I'm doing.
I also just saw that you do cardio 3x a week doing hard running. You don't need to do that, you're thin, you need to gain some mass. 2x at the most is all you need at moderate intensity. Also eat clean, drink lots of water = cleared up face.Last edited by That0neGuy; 08-15-2006 at 10:25 AM.

most of this has probably already been said but:
See a doc/chiropractor about your back. The slouch makes you look like you have no confidence.
See a dermatologist and get Accutane for the acne. Don't **** around with the non prescription stuff. You can waste years doing this when accutane only takes 5-6 months to work, and it 95% of the time it will last the rest of your life.
You have a small jaw which makes you look less masculine, I think if you buzzed your head, it would help make you look more rugged.
Get a tan (after you are done with accutane)
Focus on your chest, it appears to be the only thing lacking. Use a wider grip when benching, this will take some of your tris out of the lift.
Eat more, you are pretty skinny.
ALWAYS hang your head high and don't look at the floor.

id buzz your hair down(not shave it, but buzz it down to like a stubble). Proactive worked for me back in the day to get rid of acne. if you can, grow a goatee it will make your chin/jaw look larger.
you sorta remind me of Fredo Corleone, so i mean if you wanna look like a wisegy slick your hair back haha.

It's important to realize, too, that sometimes using all of these harsh chemicals can actualy DRY your skin out to the point where it breaks out.
Consider using a moisturizer and using some gentle cleanser for a month, see if it doesn't actually start to clear your face.
This is an all too common scenario... someone gets acne so they dry their face, that causes over-production of oil in a desperate attempt to compensate, and then they break out...

I'm thinking goatee. Even my mom thinks I look weird without some hair on my chin, and you know how moms are (always think their sons are handsome and never like facial hair).

It seems like everyone else has covered the main points. All I have to add is my vouch for accutane, I used the over the counter stuff for years and it did very little. Once I started the accutane my skin started to look a lot better in a few weeks to a month. Once I was off the meds my skin was completely clear and has been that way since. The only downside to accutane is the cost as well as making your skin dryer and more sensitive. Hope that helps you out a bit.
