i didn't read a full book until sophomore year of college. you just have to really like the material then reading is actually pretty fun. i regret not reading a lot of books in hs/college as i had a lot of free time to do it and would have probably gotten a lot out of some books.
i read one book in the my entire life, i graduated college in June, and for that semester i had to read a book for class
it was a good book and very informative
i read the newspaper everyday, a bunch of differnt magazines, never minded reading my text books for classes but i just hate reading books for the hell of it..

I don't read novels. I will buy them, use them for quotes, and skim them for various supporting information to use in any paper. That along with the internet, and you don't need to read a 300 page book. I also buy text books, but rarely do I ever use those. But sometimes you need them for various exercises for class. I had a 3.25 GPA last semester.

I never read a college/high school related book and got A's in every class that required reading one. I never read more than a chapter even when I had a 15 page paper due. I just skeemed through the chapters to find quotes.

Textbooks are probably the worst way to educate someone. Especially since in my major we are learning for our jobs, but the book focuses on theory...IE the authors are not in the field we are entering.

Wow I read three textbooks just to do one essay when I was 16. Then again I got full marks and it was a disgusting subject so it balances out.

dont your teachers tell you "the exam will consist of questions from both the lectures and information form the textbook"? I know on a lot of my exams theres always some little random bullsh*t fact or statement they pull out of the middle of a paragraph that always seems to make its way onto the exam...you would not find that fact within the lectures either.
