Mine
Forgive my destroying the age curve, but I saw the thread title & just wanted to add my tone on tone Chucks to the conversation:
My Leg Day shoes, plus I wear them quite a bit elsewise. Only $35 shipped."Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure"

better for power transport.
there's a whole "bells n whistles" about it that i don't wanna get into lawl, but it just allows for better and more direct transfer of power and you are also more stable.
btw chucks aren't the "best" for squatting, the idea is to get as close as possible to the ground. shoeless is awesomeForum Representative

Thanks and TMI....
x2. You want your heels as close to the ground as possible. Think of all the times you have heard/read about "driving your heels thru the floor" as you squat, deadlift, etc. If you have a runner's shoe/etc, your heels are elevated already...not good.
A lot of people wear wrestling shoes to do leg work in. And yeah, if your gym allows, socks or barefoot is great. There are a lot of pics of Arnold & those from the Golden Era training barefoot...."Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure"

for lifting i wear some super low vans with minimal support. no not classics... i think they're the old geoff rowley model. very worn chucks in or out of the gym though.

Yes high tops but loved
Loved the 3/4 tops found 2 dark grey on clearance for 30 bucks each got em two years ago. But yes they are really my favorite shoes in gym or outside doesn't matter what I'm doing really. If I know I'm going to be at the zoo all day waking a lot with my kid I will slid in my dr scholls low back insoles. But really they are great with shorts bball shorts jeans sweatpants anything. I only buy the black & dark grey high tops though I have 4 pairs they last too - I like the feeling of flat and being low to ground I don't care if I'm cleaning the car. Doing chest or doing leg press lol. I just slide insoles in if I will be standing for 10 plus hours bc I wear to work almost every day. They look better scuffed up tho need to scuff up my new black high tops. I can't stand wearing nikes now it's like I feel like I'm leaning forward I dunno good for something's tho so I leave in em my gym bag. Funny tho I wear 12s in every single shoe but 11 in these so my large toes don't make me look like I have large feet they fit so good I have narrow feet plus I like that they are 50 bucks not 75-100.
