All,
How many people are following the 3 basic principals? I am and my jeans were falling off my @ss yesterday! The hardest part, IMHO, is taking in all the protein. I take that back, cutting calories is even harder especially when I have a Birthday here, BBQ there, etc. But I have remained focus and I thank you creator of the thread.

i know what you mean man. i just try not to break 2200 calories in a day, my maintenance tends to be 2400 calories. and what's people obsession with cakes and cookies and stuff? i don't even enjoy that stuff that much.
now candy, candy is a different story. skittles? omg. snickers. O_O
im following the principles though. my waist seems to be getting smaller but im hoping i start to see a difference in my belly fat sometime soon. lol hasn't flattened all the way yet. actually ive gone down a belt size and the next belt size down is starting to fit me (though its still a little tight). and i've probably only lost 5 pounds.

Those are high in fat, moderate protein.
I'm tired of people saying peanut butter is a great source of protein, compared to what? A twinkie? In a single serving of protein there are 190-200 calories with about 32 calories coming from protein. Anyhow, meats are much better sources for protein, especially chicken, skim milk is decent in terms of protein to calorie ratio(per serving). I think people who are struggling to eat a certain amount of calories are just trolling for the most part. Of course I am also aware that people outside the USA do pay a premium for meats which sucks."Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." I'd be willing to say that 95% of people on this forum accomplish nothing in years, don't be one of those people. It's sad, they seem to have the knowledge many don't but can't utilize it.

Precisely why I suggested them.
Regarding the peanut butter (never had it myself, not a fan of nuts), I think it depends largely on the brand. (so I've read, not 100%).
Greek Yoghurt is another one. My workout partner bought some recently, added a bit of vanilla extract and there's 200 calories for 28 grams of protein right there.

Well, the nutrition facts I posted are pretty common for all brands of peanut butter, it's definitely a tasty treat but super calorie dense. What I listed was a serving size of 2 tablespoons, a single tablespoon is barely enough to cover a slice of bread.

Those three principles are what did the trick for me.
Down 30lbs, comfortably wearing some pants I couldn't button in April.
We have a string of late September and early October birthdays (including mine) and other stuff, I've cheated on quite a few of those so my progress slowed / stalled for a few weeks (didn't backslide, just stalled and knew I would) but I'm back dialed in now. Texas Renaissance Festival for 8 weeks, them the holidays, and I'm one of the few weirdos that usually loses weight during those times. Now cutting: Got a little more squishy than I wanted, heading down to 160lbs and seeing how things look.
5/24/13 176lbs
5/31/13 174lbs
6/06/13 172.5lbs
6/14/13 172lbs (? :/)
6/21/13 170.5lbs
7/06/13 171 lbs (Gasp blew my diet at Dollywood, must give up and become couch potato).

I've been following them, but the protein part is really hard for me, with protein shakes its still hard. I never get hungry, and get full fast. So just getting enough protein is really hard for me, not including anything else. I've probably rarely eaten more than 1600 calories a day, cept if I drank a coke or two.
So when I came on here and people were saying around 2k calories a day it was kinda surprising and I still have a problem eating that much after cleaning up my intake.
Gone from pants barely fitting to pants falling off, 36 tight to 32 loose waist in 4 months. Those rules work hah.

I LOVE the high MACRO foods. PB is great in that it helps you get closer to the fat macro. I never have an issue hitting protein, but I've been short on fat on several occasions. I'm sure it's not the biggest deal, but on a pb sandwich, bread included, I'm getting 17 g protein and 32-35 g fat for 390-430 calories.
Bacon is awesome---80 calories for 7 g fat, 5 g protein. Cheese is pretty similar---get a healthy dose of fat, 5-6 g protein, spruce up that cold cut sandwich which is giving you 20-30 g already.
Fatty cuts of Steak---just taste SO damn good, I've found a lot that are 230 for serving, 20 g protein, 15 g fat. Get around 3 servings in for dinner, PROFIT!
KFC's double down---610 calories for 37 g fat, 53 g protein
If you have a Q'doba--a quesadilla=940 calories, 53 g fat, 62 g protein.8/20:

You know that feeling you have for candy? Multiply that by 300 and you have me with cookies. Yesterday in the chow hall here, they had chocolate chip cookies. It took everything I had to not get one. I'm aware I can have one if it fits my macros, but I generally have a problem eating too much as it is. It's not that I lack the will power, it's that I've always eaten til I was not just satiated, but full. Breaking that habit is the hardest part.

ground beef and steak arent expensive if you get it in bulk. You dont need high quality of either i just got a pound of steak yesterday for 5 dollars. I dont force my parents to do anything i tell them i wanna be fit and in shape and they support me in it, so dont make it seem like im spoiled just because i eat protein because im far from it take the initiative and talk to your parents about it.

Meat, generally is more expensive here. I'm not exactly sure why but a supermarket which is distinctly average (Morrisons, for example) sells fresh chicken breast for £8 per kilo, which I think equates to around $12. There are ways around paying these prices with supplementation of course as well as cheaper meats such as Pork (quite cheap here, but not everyone's favourite) and tuna.
Good point about bulk buying. There is a section in my local supermarket that has steaks at £1.40 to £2. They're tasty as anything.

I'm in a rural Asian area, and probably the only rural regulars here >_>
I've looked for whey protein before, but it's 110$. I don't have enough money at that time, and I rather spend it on improving my equipments.
Cheese is too costly. I buy eggs everyday with my school money, which is 5 eggs for 2$ . I want to buy some chicken but I got to deal with some religion issue.[Watdo?] - Want (''should'' for you naggers) bulk.

I'd imagine that PB to tear the shiiii out of bread and not be too tasty at a high price. I've never seen PB2 personally but I'd just rather eat other things anyways. Kinda wanting PB&Js now thanks to this damn thread.
It would help that's for sure. If someone is struggling to pack on size PB is a good way to bump up cals that's for sure. I'd probably go the ice cream route personally.
Team Homo always gets protein the hard way amirite?"Everyone thinks they're on their way to single digit body fat as soon as they see a blurry four-pack in the right lighting.Your final body weight at 5-6% will be a lot less than what you think.Talk to me again when you get in contest shape." Cheese, expensive? Sure, if it's gold-plated! Cheese is really cheap here, and $100 + for Whey Protein?
http://www.physique-iq.com/ Gold Standard Whey Protein is 61.76 (converted from £40).

I agree that getting enough protein is hard. I think I'm only getting about 75% of what I need if it's 1g per lb of bodyweight. For me the challenge is getting enough *healthy* protein. To me, a cheeseburger doesn't really fit that (not that there isn't room for the occassional cheeseburger in any diet, but it's not something I'm going to eat every day for lunch). I guess I need to be eating a lot more meat based snacks instead of yogurt/fruit/peanut butter types.
