How much harder is trigonometry than College Algebra?

I struggled when I took College Algebra over the summer (got a D). I was relieve though that I finally finished it, thinking thats the only math I needed for Exercise Science. I just found out I need Trig though Bricks were shat. Now, I'm really worried. Is it harder or easier? Or is it just different?

It doesn't matter if it is easy or not. You have to take it regardless. So man up and pass the class.

@ my uni you need to pass pre-req courses with a C or higher to be able to take a higher level course

Such as with College Algebra ----> Trig

It's not like that at my uni, at least not that I know of.

I know I have to take it either way but I just want to know what to expect.

It's definitely harder and requires a bit of memorization (if your prof doesn't allow notes) and if you got a D in college algebra then I'd think about getting some tutoring for trig.

It's still not a terribly difficult class but for someone who seems to struggle with math then I think you probably need to study a bit more.

not harder, just different. Basic algebra is used. Most of it will be over triangles, sin, cos, tan, etc. Finding angles of triangles, lengths of sides. I'm not all too sure if there is anything else as I took precal which had a condensed trig course for the first month, and we skipped some stuff. Good luck.

Not hard at all, imo. The most difficult part of trigonometry is memorizing the sin(theta) and cos(theta) values for multiples of pi/2 and dealing with the domain restrictions of the inverse trig functions. The Law of Sines has an "ambiguous" case that you have to be wary about.

My tip: Learn what all of it MEANS, don't just punch in numbers into your calculator but this goes for all math, not just trig.

your college has a course on trig? That's ridiculous... no such thing here. That's basic stuff. Much easier than linear algebra; don't know what you mean by college algebra.

I'm guessing he goes to a community college. I had to do all that crap too because I was too lazy to learn it in high school like most college bound people.
