All dietary fiber, so they "don't count".
That being said, I'd love to find a way to come up with a lower fat version of the flax bread. Yes I am on keto, and yes that is a high fat diet, but I just feel that each slice of bread has too many calories in it considering how filling it is.
I don't really know how I'd do it. I guess I could just cut them in smaller slices, but that isn't really getting me more. I really loved the way they came out, but I sliced mine in 9 pieces and it came out to be 300 cals per slice. I just rack up calories too fast that way. It'd be nice if I could make a sandwich that wasn't 900 calories..
Either way, beggars can't be choosers.
P.s. I also made pizza with this recipe and it came out very nicely...

Alright, I made a few loaves. Here is what I've got for changes- (Note, take into account that baking powder has carbs, I didn't my first time calculating nutritional data)
====================
Original recipe, as posted at beginning of this thread-
1/12 recipe=
15g fat
7g carbs, 5 fiber, 1 sugar
6g protein
175 calories, 2 net carbs
====================
My new lower fat recipe-
1/12 recipe=
11g fat
10g carb, 8 fiber, 1 sugar
5g protein
136 calories, 2 net carb
====================
New Recipe-
For this one I did not add the pumpkin spice (only to make it a more neutral flavor, don't think that affects the ND much)
1.5 cups flaxseed, milled
.5 cup milled psyllium seed (I had trouble milling this in the magic bullet, a real mill would produce better results)
1TBspn Baking Powder
1Tsp Salt
1.5 Tb Splenda (I don't have stevia, but that would give you lower carbs/calories)
7 egg whites (= 1cup)
1 TBspn Olive Oil
3 TBspn Corn Oil
1 Tbspn Butter (Actually has less fat)
3/4 cup H2O
1 Tsp Vanilla
And I added 1/2 tspn of Instant Dry Yeast, why, wishful thinking... It turned out well, but doubt it made it rise...
I think I'll post this as a new recipe as well...Last edited by gijoe985; 02-02-2010 at 08:50 AM.

You can pop it in the toaster and it will toast quite nicely. Or microwave it for 30-40 seconds depending on how powerful your microwave is. It doesn't get toasted in the microwave but it gets hot. I usually let it cool down for 1 minute before I eat it with something.
I put the loaf in the freezer to prolong its life. I get organic flax bread that is flourless. I've noticed it spoils quickly (even before due date). The ingredients don't last as long as regular ww bread.

Can this throw me out of ketosis or keep me from getting into it? I followed the original recipe n have been eating up to 4 slices a day. My loaf came out to be about 21 slices though. I've been usin keto stix and they've been saying negative but the last time I carb loaded was Saturday. It might be something else but I was Thinking this cud be it.

hey just curious; i bought a bag of ground milled flax seed, but its 3gs of carbs per 2 tablespoons. yer talking 2 cups; how can carb count be so low?The most satisfying feeling you can get having sex is the come. Lets say you blow it ; blood rushes to your penis; thats what we call the come. Your penis gets this really intense feeling, as if it could explode at any moment. Blood rushes and it feels different; feels fantastic. It's as satisfying to me as training is; going to the gym and training. Can you believe how much I am in heaven? I get the feeling of training in the sack, when I'm at home masturbating. So I am training day and night.

I found a few options at Walmart - got the 16 ounce bag of Milled Golden Flaxseed for about $3.50 so not too pricey
Made this yesterday and substituted stevia/pumpkin spice with splenda and cinnamon - turned out AWESOME!! Definitely need to limit yourself to one portion since its high in calories but worth it for sure......so glad I found this =)

Made this tonight and not sure what to think. I used liquid Vanilla Creme Stevia instead of the packets and used Finely Ground Flax because I didn't know I needed Golden. It was a little bitter when it was warm. It hasn't completely cooled yet but I think next time I'll use the Golden Flax and try to figure out a Stevia to Liquid Stevia equivalent as I don't think I put enough sweetener in it.
