My shoulder press is almost as much as my bench

    Lifting for 3 months.
Shoulder press with 65 pound dumbells x8
Chest press with 70 pound dumbells x8

It has to be form right? elbows close to body, shoulders back, scapulas together?

And I think my body shows that, chest is non-existent:

the wider you hold out the dumbells the more the focus is put on your shoulders, shoulder width grip or slightly narrower is better for chest.

Sounds right, when using dumbells it's harder to have every rep look the same.
Been doing it wider I guess.

People say benching 70 pound dumbells is harder than 135 on a barbell.
Well I do 70s for a full set, and barely made it through 135 on the barbell, I think it required more chest, not sure though.

    well considering 70lb dumbells x 2= 140lbs and 135 on a barbell is lighter.. it shouldn't be

Generally, you should be able to do 20% more than your DB's.

lol. I think BB is better for mass and overall strength. I worked my way up to 225 x 6, now I can do 95x 6-7 on DB. Still iffy about DB and BB shoulder presses. Don't know which I like more.

I meant 140 on the barbell.

But you would think 70 pound dbs would be harder than 135, but I tried a barbell for the 1st time and I couldn't rep more on the barbell and it was 5 pounds lighter than the DBs

you probably can lift more weigh when doing chest press with dumbells. get a spotter and move up 5 to 10 pounds. you might be amazed at what you can actually lift.

Personally I find that DBs are harder as they utilise more stabilisers. I can BB 5kg more than I can DB on the bench press.

I would post in exercise forum. The root of your comments lie in the exercise itself, not how you look.
