Hey all-- I need a little clarification on something: I'm using The New Rules of Lifting for Women and the way the pictures show the set up for the regular deadlift has the girl basically at the parallel point of a squat. I went to the bookstore today and its the same in the original men's version of the book (both of which had the workouts designed by Alwyn Cosgrove). Impossibly Lou posted this link in another thread
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_jM4_EBFfI-- where the starting point has the guys thighs more at an angle, more upright. Its a Mark Rippetoe video and he even says specifically to bend forward to the bar without lowering your hips and to "keep your a$$ in the air" when setting up.
I was doing these a couple days ago and watching myself from the side and I look more like I'm down in a squat but I shouldn't be right?? My bum should stay higher on deadlifts than it is when squatting? Thanks!
