Company Reps May No Longer Negative rep

It is the desire of this website to provide a service for our customers, as described in our mission statement. To this end, company reps are not only allowed, but encouraged to post here to assist not only this website, but the companies they represent in helping people meet their training goals. To that end, company representatives should provide positive and helpful advice. To further this concept, from this point forward no company representative is allowed to negatively rep any user of this board. When you elect to become a company representative, you give up certain freedoms that regular posters enjoy. If you cannot comply with this or the other rules pertaining to the actions of company representatives, you are encouraged to step down from your position.

The Bodybuilding.com Mission:"To help our visitors reach their health, fitness and appearance goals throughinformation, motivation and supplementation."

If there is an issue that a company rep feels that deserves negative reps, please contact a Moderator.

So, while I will comply with this new rule I was wondering what would happen to a company rep who did neg someone anyway?

I will remove the neg and issue an infraction to the rep. If it's really over the top a temp ban could be issued.

Sounds good. While I have been trigger happy with people posting bad information, insulting people, etc. it seems like it is a cleaner solution to just have you guys deal with the situation.

Don't you think this is alittle overboard? If you are posting in say the politics or relationship help section and someone gives bad advice or poor information you can't neg them just because you represent a supplement company??

I also posted about this in another thread. "Negging back" while it was pretty much expected, was against the rules to begin with.

I assume if people start to neg for no reason other than not fearing a return neg, a mod would do something about the situation.

Its not so much about negging back its the fact that people expect a neg back or fear one that keeps people from using it so much

Just don't say anything worthy of getting negged and it won't be an issue. As we have seen recently if you get negged wrongfully and complain about it, it looks like it gets taken care of.

I agree with this totally and this is how it should have been all along anyways.

This is really how it should be. The Company Reps should act more professional on the boards than non-reps as they are representing a company as well as the board they are communicating on.

I honestly have given about 4 negs in my 6+ years of being here, nonetheless I still disagree with the rule.

I suppose the real reason (in my opinion) behind this rule is the idea that if a member is negged by a rep in any section they may be less likely to purchase the product.

This reminds of a time a while back when sikboy was taking care of a troll, apparently the troll took the issue to the ceo of bbing.com and had sikboy removed as a mod. Classic case of profit over principle seeing as though just about everyone else in the section sikboy modded agreed with him...
