Company Reps May No Longer Negative Rep
It is the desire of this website to provide a service for our customers, as described in our mission statement. To this end, company reps are not only allowed, but encouraged to post here to assist not only this website, but the companies they represent in helping people meet their training goals. To that end, company representatives should provide positive and helpful advice. To further this concept, from this point forward no company representative is allowed to negatively rep any user of this board. When you elect to become a company representative, you give up certain freedoms that regular posters enjoy. If you cannot comply with this or the other rules pertaining to the actions of company representatives, you are encouraged to step down from your position.
The Bodybuilding.com Mission:"To help our visitors reach their health, fitness and appearance goals throughinformation, motivation and supplementation."
If there is a forum issue that you feel needs a negative rep, please contact a Moderator.

Good idea, will help stop the inter-company feuding and promote more positive dialogue and information.

Should have always been this way, the Reps should show a little more professionalism over non-rep members anyway as they represent companies and the forums they post on.

I usually do not neg....but I mean...what if you have stalker posters that just follow you around and just start with you for no reason, or because they just dislike your company (yes has happened to me before, and many of the reps here I am sure)?
I definitely don't want posters to just feel free to trash talk/neg me because they are now protected by the mods and admins.
I like the rule, but I think under certain circumstances there should be exceptions....example:
I had a troll one day that created the following accounts just to talk trash:
gayKmuL
KmuL2nd
KmuL3rd
KmuLisGay
GaymuL
and a few others that I can't remember...obviously they were taken care of, but the person who made the account kept following me around and disagreeing with everything I said for the hell of it for about a week....I believe that was one time I negged, lol

This would be a mods job to take care of. Your job is to rep your company.

I see it as anyone who is associated with a company, paid or not, they are representing them whilst on the forums and so should act in a way that does not cause problems/issues for that company.

Not going to happen.
All I/we can do is attempt to improve on what it is.

i just hope you haven't opened a can of worms with this, fitty...
while i think it's a decision i'll ultimately respect and become comfortable with, i don't particularly agree with it right now.
in the past if i've seen blatantly horrible advice being given in the supp. section, i'll call the poster out, neg them with my opinion, and hope that the OP or anyone else reading the post won't take the advice and put it into practice...
when these situations arise now (and they happen with surprising frequency), i have to report the post and contact a mod and hope the situation gets rectified before harm is done?
i have no problems with representing my company in a professional manner, but i do feel obligated, as a company rep, to do my part to ensure that the proper advice is given/being taken.
this is just one example that i thought of when i read your post above.
also, can we still neg other company reps?

addition by subtraction
with reps more scarce, the black market will increase, underground rep trading will prevail

It's a reward system, kinda like trying to earn points to get a better gun in a video game. It keeps people coming back here and it promotes good quality post, in theory anyways.

As with those games, after a while they are boring and loose meaning.

yep, but there is always a influx of new people to this forum and its those new people the rep system targets.
