True Motivation
I wanted to share this.....I work at a school with visually impaired students and they had a track meet....One of my students "Bart" (not his real name)....Came up to me...he expressed to me he was concerned he wouldn't do well in the 800 race because some of the other guys in the race appeared bigger and stronger than himself.....I told him to focus on doing his personal best and if he did that regardless...your a winner.....The race started he took off...he paced himself and while completing his last lap....he kicked it.....I kept encouraging him ... by yellin out his name......his finished the race and dropped to his knees at the finish line...the second best finisher was half the length behind him.....After announcing him the winner of the race,he came up to me....Know what he said," I delivered the win for ya,huh?"he returned to his team.....All of a sudden I felt my throat tighten up and my eyes were watery....I first thing that came to my mind was damn.....I gettin a cold.....but it wasn't a cold I realized...they were tears of pride.....39 years old.... me....I thought I was the strong, the unemotional type....but being human sure feels good.............Self

Awesome stories. I love stuff like this. I don't work with student athletics, but being a musician, I do a lot with local school band programs, and it is so rewarding to see a student succeed, especially when he or she never expected it.

9 years old.... me....I thought I was the strong, the unemotional type....but being human sure feels good.............Self
Man, for a moment you got me stuck with that statement. you know sometimes, I felt that way too.. thinking unemotional and unsympathetic though in the end I realize I am more capable of giving apathy.
that day is when my friend had cancer and I am the only person he got after his chemo theraphy. I have been with him for 1 month, I balanced my work my training in the gym and bring him food to the hospital (coz of the crappy taste of hospital cereals) it's then, when she finally recovered and left the hospital.
she call me to meet her at the dorm.... and when I arrive there as soon as I knock on the door, she opened it and hug me so tight.... I have never been hugged like that for all of my life and I thought I don't need it, but at that moment I was helpless and I hugged her tight too..
sometimes, its in the most difficult times you can finally discover who you really are.
