I buried myself, socially
Cliffs:
-best friends were stoners
-stopped hangin with best friends
-rest of crew did not back me up in my decision
-Finding new click is ****in wack
-no friends = no puss = FML
Growing up in HS my friends and I were real tight, but one thing lead to another and drama unfolded or some of us grew apart. In my case, I publicly denounced my friendship with one of my closest buddies because I realized that he was nothing but an over privliged stoner who started considering the guys he bought weed from his "friends".
Since then shiits been real tough socially though. I guess he was the more popular out of the two of us, because he maintained a circle with many of our mutual friends, guys who I figured if your gonna hang with loseres like that, then I dont need to be your friend either. ****. Only 3 of our friends have recognized and respected my idealist opinion, and for that I am very grateful.
So ive tried making new friends and it sucks. sure, ive made an individual acquantance here and there, but having a tight click again like back in the day is just not happening. I'm actually begining to wonder if this is even possible. I know I made an alpha decision in deciding my future, but feel uber beta for not having friends.
Anybody nawm sayin?

As you get older this will happen. The older you get, the less of a click there is. These are just my observations. All of my old friends from HS are now married like I am. We go to each others wedding. Now since we're all married, we get together when we are all back at home and bitch about our wives and play cards. Everybody grows up at a different rate, but eventually everybody does.

Masterscheiffer, I don't know if friendships are easy to develop late in life, because they it takes a lot of time with someone to really develop a true friendship. Like in school, you are around people all the time and so you can develop it. + most people are happy with their existing friends.
Just don't do what most people do in your situation--Find a gf. They get a gf and instead of having the age old female-male relationship of romance and attraction they turn it into a friendship thing, so the male and female spend all of their time together... A very beta thing.
But I know you have to be around people. Church is a way to meet people and build friends because you go there and you have people with similar values and interests, and you are seeing them all the time. Since I've been in church for the past years, I've never had trouble making friends. But if you're not a Christian that's ok, there is probably other things you can do where you would get to have interaction with the same group of people on a regular basis, not sure what though.

Uhh you don't either bro. OP just said he stopped hanging out iwth one of his good buddies cuz his good buddy found some other friends besides OP. No offense OP, but you can't expect everyone's world to revolve around you, and if you ended the friendship because of who he was friends with then you sound like the douchebag, not him.

No, I stopped hangin with almost all of my good friends. Maybe it was the wrong thing to do, but like I said, I no longer identify with them.

Also, if you get money you instantly become a more desirable companion. When I went from being broke to semi-loaded and got a couple of gaming comps I started having a ton of people come over to play COD4 tourneys(yes nerd), made a lot of friends that way.
People want to know what you offer them, it's sad, but true. Humans are selfish creatures. If you're genuinely interested and care about people, it's easy to make friends, but if you don't, there are a lot of tricks you can do to make people think you have something to offer them.

I went through something a bit similar. I didn't stop hanging out with my friends completely or anything but just the fact that you refuse to follow their livestyle (smoke weed, skip class to get drunk etc.) drives you apart from your group slowly. Sucks but hey, you'll make new friends.

After high school making friends isn't automatic. A lot of people are in their house or working or just hanging out with the same people. Unless you have some interest that brings you into contact with people on a regular basis, it's pretty hard to even meet a lot of people. Making friends definitely isn't automatic, especially if someone isn't naturally social and interested in people.

I see how you could think this and your almost right, but I'm not self righteous, I have strong ideals and a passion to succeed/challenge myself and I chose to make those those ideals a possibility
something like that

I would understand if it was Herion or some serious ****... but you ended a relationship with one of your friends because he liked smoking pot? talk about loyalty, that's why none of your friends hang out with you anymore. you showed you have zero loyalty. If you really were a friend and you were worried about where he was leading himself, you would of tried to lead him right.
again you're a bad friend and clearly the beta of the group, aka replaceable.

i hear ya op.
I was in that crowd until we all got busted by the feds (srs). Those who decided we needed to move on from that lifestyle went onto better lives (all grad programs). those that didn't sunk away into menial cubicle jobs (and I don't even keep touch with them anymore).
Don't worry about making friends. Focus on yourself and making yourself a better person - and people will flock to you. Promise.

what loyalty is owed? maybe you're were wrong to burn bridges (if you did, that is), but people move on, and some people don't change.

Congrats you grew up and realized there's more to life than hanging out and smoking pot, your old friends will get there some day but they're not ready yet. You'll never have the click again, time to begin your adult life and move on without it.

lol @ the stoner rage
pretty much everyone that doesn't smoke weed hates stoners, if you don't believe it then your non-stoner friends are just too beta to tell you straight up
there's a difference between stoners and people that smoke pot, let me make that clear though
stoners pretty much don't have true friends, they just act friendly with the people they buy pot from and those who smoke with them, especially if it's for free
if a friend gets stingy with his pot, other stoners are no longer friends with him
stoners are like cattle, they just herd to wherever the pot is
regardless OP, you're better off leaving the stoner group because they are boring people and ultimately life failures

Yea so you completely abandon them instead of just finding some new friends and hang around original friends less?
