Georgia’s strength staff under Joe Tereshinski has made some new hires.
Former Penn State head strength coach John Thomas is joining the staff as an assistant after 20 years with the Nittany Lions under Joe Paterno. He was not retained by new coach Bill O’Brien.
Also being hired as a speed specialist is Sherman Armstrong from V.A.S.T. Sports Performance in Tampa, who said last month that he had interviewed on campus and was a strong candidate. Their hires should officially be announced soon.
The strength staff lost longtime staffer Keith Gray recently to the Philadelphia Eagles and Thomas Brown to Tennessee-Chattanooga, where Brown is now the running backs coach.

Good hires. Gray is 300 lbs slob and Brown has no background in SandC. I don't care how strong someone was in college and how good they were at playing, if they don't have a SandC background there is no place for them being a collegiate strength coach. That was an awful hire last year.

we might/should go undefeated IMO.
but as a fan our home schedule is weak as fuk.
i should be at the tech game but no other game really appeals to me AT HOME.
UT maybe olemiss are ok games/ i think both team are below average. should have brought in a nice out of conference team.
I guess SEC championship is kinda of a home game idk thoughBraves-Hawks-Falcons-UGA

Some good info:
"There's been tons of talk about the offseason conditioning during the last three to four offseasons, but I think that Sherman Armstrong's presence will help us based on what I've heard. He has VERY fresh ideas and the MAIN reason that I believe our guys are enjoying having him on campus is because his plan is so new and innovative. I think we'll see some better stamina out of the '12 bunch based on what I'm hearing. I do know that both CMR and CTG believed after the SECC and the bowl game that we needed better stamina thus the addition of Armstrong.
Nextly, there seems to have been a bullet dodged even though I don't think our guys really did anything wrong based on what I've heard. It seems as if a few of our star defenders were "horsing around" at the beach here recently and it spread into some innocent bystanders. The cops were called and the folks explained the situation and that nobody did anything malicious, so there were no arrests. I do know that the guys that were present are laid back types, so I was a bit surprised to hear they almost rioted on the beach! Again, just a nugget or a look inside, but please don't act as if some of our guys are villains as they did nothing wrong. HOweva, as Corch Dooley would say, when the cops are called, I sweat it until things are settled. Seems as if things are ok now based on what I've got.
As far as our QB situation goes, I firmly believe that Hutson could help us this season if needed and if allowed to play. It looks as if CMR won't budge on this situation thus LeMay will be the backup and I really ain't shore he's quite ready. I do know it's a little too early to be negative on a kid who hasn't seen a snap, but Murray will need to be the man, especially stay injury free imo.
Running backs? Well, heard from one source that saw Gurley up close and personal(real close) and they say that he really looks the part. The word was "SEC ready." Also said the same thing about Johnathan Taylor as well and said Taylor looks like an NFL guy right now. He will be a stud. As far as Keith Marshall goes, the coaches have that "whispering" effect going on with him and they are very antsy to watch him go as they believe he is as advertised. These two seem to have some people excited. IC? Well, let's just say he still needs some window dressing. He is better than last season, but still needs to mature imo. Let's just leave this as he's making progress! Cool?
John Jenkins cannot be blocked, period. He will anchor our defense and has a chance to be first team ALL-SEC/AA imo. He and Quayvon Hicks get the most accolades from each side of the ball when I talk to folks. Hicks appears to be a manchild waiting to explode. Also, it "appears" that Leonard Floyd will be able to enroll as well as John Atkins. His name is already in the directory. Fingers crossed.
Still hear good things about Jay Rome, but also hear "needs to work harder." He seems like a basketball player mentally and a football player physically. He is a young buck and there's plenty of time for him to come around. He does have the physical skills as displayed during G-Day."

I hope Marlon Brown breaks out this year. I sat next to him for a class one semester when he was a freshman and he was cool as ****. Not the typical entitled douchebag I'm used to running into (ex, Brandon Smith and one of the backup linebackers were by far the worst). Orson Charles was cool as **** though. I still talk to him and I hope he plays great for the Bengals. I remember when he was asking me to keep my ears out for people selling cheap iPods. Dude can buy all the iPods he wants now lol
