Come on he is only moving his legs 2 inches, he barely left the locked out position. In order for him to complete a full rep he would have had to lower the weight another 16-18 inches. What a joke.
I actually saw a guy in my gym the other day who based his entire routine on 2 inch ROM, this was not only on leg presses but also on DB curls, one arm cable pulldowns, and tricep extensions as well. I can only assume it serves a purpose based on whatever program he is running, like one day a week you do all partial bs but it was weird as **** to watch.

There is a guy where I go that does the same on bench. Brings it down about 4 inches and calls it good after about 5-6 reps. I am sure he runs around bragin how much he benches.

People like that in the gym are such jokes. Some bring their ego's and it's a shame. Some guy did a similar thing at my gym and he ended up having to sit down for nearly 20, because he tried lifting too much on squats, despite his partner saying he shouldn't go that heavy.
I have a good joke about water retention. But I'm going to hold onto it for now.

Anyway at the end I said how much weight do you want left on? he replies leave it all " I have to add alot more." so for his first set he loads both sides with 45lb plates then loads each top arm with 45lb plates. Im thinking this must be one strong mother f***er. No he lifts off goes down about 2 inches (that is being generous) he does like 5 then racks it. I am amazed at the lack of ROM. Come on he is only moving his legs 2 inches, he barely left the locked out position. In order for him to complete a full rep he would have had to lower the weight another 16-18 inches. What a joke.
    Beats me why you're surprised.

In all the time I've been training I could probably count on one hand the number of people I've seen using the full ROM on leg press.

Most of them have chicken legs but put on 8 or more plates a side to move the sled a few inches. I'm sure their knee caps get a good workout.

It wouldn't bother me if they didn't take every spare plate in the gym to do it.
