Just Got a Job at the Best GNC

Its the highest volume sales GNC in the company so the moneyz sweet. I shop more on BB.com but a 30% daily discount won't hurt me from shopping at GNC. I'll probably still shop here though cuz they don't sell a lot of the stuff i like at GNC. anyway, just thought i'd post this. lol.

tourist love to buy everything when they come to hawaii. and its not just tourist my friend. the mall that the GNC is in has thousands of customers each day. weightlifting is huge in hawaii and its such a compact space, you'd have to visit to understand. this GNC alone made 3.2 million dollars in sales last year when the average out of the 3500 GNCs worldwide make about 300,000.

pretty good, havent seen you on in a while.

ended up losing all that fat, ive won a few local contests actually, moving back up in weight though, getting large and in charge

i went to apply at my gnc the other day. i walked in and was like are there any job openings. the lady said yes hold a min and she jumped up and went to get me an application. like the place was hard to find people to work or summin. then i asked how old do you have to be to work here and she said sweety how old are you. i told her 16 and she said sorry but youve gotta be 18. then she told me to deff come back when i turn 18.

damn i hate not being 18.

arent supplements more expensive on hawaii than in the states? i know a pint of milk down there is around $4 when its about $2 here.

no actually the prices for supps are stagnant throughout the states for the most part. as far as free stuff goes, we get to keep the returns so thats pretty cool. plus we can get alotta free samples and what not of several products.

Tourists buy so much **** in Hawaii because in Japan (where most of the tourists are from) prices are sooooo much higher there and everything here is dirt cheap. Which mall you located at? Have they started the renewal of Ala Moana yet?

What do you do in GNC?

Do you put supplements on the shelf and sit on the counter?

My areas gnc is litteraly empty all day, so if i worked there i would do nuttin all day.

seriously its pretty cool. i'm a sales associate, but unlike a lot of people there, i research to know my stuff and a lot of that happens here on the boards with all the articles here. I sell smart. its fun to me because i find myself making friends with most of the customers who come in, its cool to exchange ideas and questions with fellow lifters, kind of like what we do here on the boards except in person you know. its really useful to have to learn about all these products and because lifting is my passion it goes side by side you know.

mhmmm, not really true. I live in a rural area and the local GNC sells products at about 15% lower than the big city about an hour away. And when I went to Washington D.C./New York the prices skyrocketed. They are probably pretty much the same once your break down cost of living in different cities, but the prices do differ.

no we don't get 30 plus 20% on gold card days but 30 everyday is fine enough for me. all the samples and stuff we get and trial things are pretty sweet already.

it is a fun job so that relates to my hobby so all in all its good.

Do they put you through any training or do you have to already have a broad knowledge of the material to get accepted? I'll be applying to the local GNC when I hit 18, I already know more than most the people that work there. Conversations with them can get interesting, especially if I disagree with something. For the most part they know what they're talking about tho, unless they're trying to sell you on something.. then it can get annoying. Do you get kickbacks for selling a lot?

there a lot of PMs on third party supps but commission is 1%. u do not HAVE to know a lot about the stuff but im sure they prefer it. you do go through training no matter what though.

Yeah i'm trying to get a job at etiher super supplements or GNC. I just got hired at Eagen's (a fast food restaurant) which sucks ass since i can't eat that ****. The cool thing is that they sell protein milk shakes and everyone who works there is a stonner. So woo! I get all the protein shakes i want!
