    Emg?

Im getting an EMG (Electromyography) for my right shoulder down the arm.
They are primarily testing for nerve damage? Iv read about the process and been told the procedure isn't all too pleasant. Electrically stimulated needles inserted into the nerves?

8 months+ of frequent doctor visits for chronic back and shoulder pain (after stress fracture) and they're running out of options. Going to the Pain Clinic in a few weeks as well.

Anyone here familiar with the procedure?

I have a herniated cervical disc @ c7 and it was diagnosed through an MRI and EMG. It is not the most fun but its not that bad, it is basically like an accupuncture needed and then they move it around in the muscle to stimulate certain nerve and it send a signal to the computer if the nerve function is interupted or not.

Try to just relax and not look at the needle when they put it in or move it around.

    Good luck

    alright sweet, thanks man.

I'm already on Vicodin for the chronic pain, but i still have some trouble with stability due to the shooting pains into the skull. Wanted to make sure it wasnt something that required complete immobilization. xD
