Start Barber or Rice?

Barber faces Tampa Bay, and while they are a solid defense, they allowed >175 rushing yards in 3 of the last 4 weeks last season. I also worry about Felix getting more touches.

Rice faces Kansas City, who are transitioning to a new D. I am not too worried about MyGayknee or L'Ron, just more about overall touches.

My gut says start Rice all day, but I'm looking for other opinions.

Id say start Rice.
Felix is going to get the ball more then people think. Since he has the explosiveness to make huge plays. Barber is going to be someone who will close out for them.

Rice is going against a poor KC defense, but we don't know what to expect week in or week out from him yet.

Barber is going against a slightly better TB defense. I'd pick him, because even if Jones takes some snaps, he's still going to do goalline I'd wager.

Play Ray Rice, he is going to be a stud this week and he is facing one of the FF orgy defenses.

MB3 is in a 50/50 split with Felix.

50/50 split, but he probably will get the goal line touches, just like McClain will in BLT

Ravens dont have another Fullback(I am pretty sure) and I dont think they are going to be running a lot of single back on the GL to get McClain into the endzone. I feel pretty confident about that because the redzone carries in preseason were McClain 1, McGahee 1. And in PPR scoring Rice is going to be huge this year.

Felix did get some GL work in one game, but I dont think he gets much time in the regular season. But, the draw of Felix is a decent number of carries and he was a step away from breaking a few 80 yarders already.

dude mb3 and felix is not 50/50.. tashard choice will get some touches and mb3 will get majority. its more like 60/30/10

The Cowboys already made the statement about the 50/50. Also there is no reason to add another MB3 style RB to a 2 headed monster. MB3 will be plenty fresh splitting carries with Felix. Real football talk here-a guy like Barbarian needs a certain number of carries to become effective. He wears teams out with his style and he needs a couple of carries to get himself going. Adding Choice will negate the benefit of MB3. Tashard didnt split carries in the preseason either. He wont get any serious action until one of the backs goes down.

Besides even if MB3 got 60% of the carries, it still doesnt compare to a guy that is going to get 98% of the carries and will have double the REC that MB3 is going to have.

Seems like I'm getting a split here as well...lol. Every where I check it's 50Rice/50MB3. I wish I had that round to do over, I would have got my 3rd WR instead...I just didn't know I would have Rice and Knowshon fall to me, and give me depth behind LT.

I was leaning towards Rice for this matchup, and watching the Dallas RB reps the 1st week, so it's more clear. I also heard the 50/50 split in Dallas, with Felix getting a majority of 1st half reps, then MB3 getting the majority of 2nd half reps. I am also slightly biased as a Redskins fan, so I needed other input.

I like the ravens matchup and that's why I'd start Rice.


MB3 is a better option (until proven otherwise) most the time, but Dallas will have a solid running game AGAINST them that is going to eat up clock. TB isn't as bad of a team as KC either.

Ravens will run and play stellar D so even if Rice doesn't get the rock a ton, he'll still be getting the rock. I'd say he'll have 25 touches or more and break 100 all-purpose yards.
