What's really in your supplements?
Nifty little argumentative piece on dietary supplements... Never knew about the Ultimate Nutrition incident & their multi vitamin...
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...811949538.html
Quote:
Kicker Vencill, 31, a former competitive swimmer who is now a lifeguard living in Santa Monica, Calif., flunked an athletic drug test several years ago and claimed it was due to a dietary supplement. The Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that, as Mr. Vencill argued, a multivitamin that he took contained banned steroids, it was the supplement that caused him to fail the test, and that he didn't know the capsules contained drugs. But he was still suspended from competition for two years.
"The last one that I thought would be the culprit was the multivitamin," Mr. Vencill says. A spokesman for Ultimate Nutrition Inc., which made the multivitamin, had no comment.

I haven't been around the supplement industry long enough to grossly estimate the turnover of companies that are in it for profit only... being a mostly profit driven industry I presume? I can only imagine the money that exists in dietary supplements and naturopathic medicine...
H'mmm I wonder what's in my multi vitamin now...
Naw, I place my trust Sport Pharma & Universal. [thumbs up] (been switching between animal pak and SP's Multi V)

Some compaines are obviously out to make a quick buck - and then they are discovered and they financially go under. But the companies that want to be around for a long time put a lot of money and research into what they are selling because they know that the majority of consumers are not stupid and will easliy weed out the supplements that are all talk no show.

Yes because everyone knows you can not care about customers and still make profit

Also worthwhile to mention that if your supplement kills people they can't A) tell people how effective it is, or B) buy it again.

If they die, they cannot create negative reviews on the product

It's really about being able to read in between the lines (of the ingredient panel) and see what others can't see (due to the invisible font).
It is much easier with a spy kit. I am going to start selling them on here.

I believe the same thing happend with Animal Pak and a tennis player. He got banned because the multi-vitamin was also made in the same factory as a steroid but yeah, universal complies to cGMP now...

my best guess places the day you stop getting mocked for bringing up your own education sometime after the first incident where you pass up an opportunity to do so

I hope no one is wondering what's in SAN triple strength fish fats.
its our number 1 selling product for a reason: high quality, highest dosed EPA and DHA in an easy to swallow cap.

Doubtful... the opportune moment arises and immediately there are people on this board that are just vultures to feed off of another's weaknesses. ..or conceal their insecurities by thriving off another's misfortunes or simply resort to a debasing mockery of sorts.

Request authentic C of A's that you confirm the lab exists from whomever, usually not the company on the label, usually a secondary company manufactures it. Also, checking if they hold a certificate of liability. Usually a retailers(the owner) can provide those details.
You just have to ask. Takes less time then conspiracy theories.
