What is your FAVOURITE thing about keto?
I read all the time on this board about people who are thinking of stopping keto because it's not working that week.. or it's too hard.. so I think sometimes we need a little motivation to keep with it and a reminder of why we like it so much.. so spill it! Why do YOU love keto?
-I love it, because unlike other 'diets', I literally can't have ' just one piece of chocolate' becuase I know it will kick me out of ketosis. I used to say ohhh it's okay, I worked out really hard.. I can splurge a little and I ended up eating half a jar of Nutella.. but when I'm on keto.. I KNOW that even if I did work hard.. Getting kicked out of ketosis really isn't worth it.

I like the stable blood sugar that is kept throughout the day. Makes having to snack on stuff not necessary since your meals will keep you fuller longer...plus the food is tasty

I so agree with the first post. Being a mum, I have to make seperate meals for the kids all day long, plus the family dinner. On a 'traditional' diet I would be sampling, sampling, sampling as I go - with keto not a single morsel touches my lips.
I love how I can wake up straight away and pretty much bounce out of bed after 6 hours sleep. Generally I would be bleary eyed and semi-conscious until after a coffee.
And of course, THE FOOD. I'm not that much of a carb addict, I dont miss bread or anything - not when I can have delicious meals like I have been having - and the change in how I look in the mirror is so profound even after only 3 weeks.
But I guess I'd better like it - I'm insulin resistant so its either eat keto/low-carb for the rest of my life or go on medication - failing that I will develop diabetes. Though I must say the drop in bodyfat is a huge bonus

Yeah....I'd have to go with the Steak and Bacon. Unlike others I don't get great energy with this diet. Getting the weight loss but would really like to experience that energy part.

That is the exact reason I love this diet. When i was on 40/40/20 ..P/C/F i could say .. well I will work that candy in. Today I look at candy and laugh to myself and say "hell no its not worth being out of ketosis".

First post i exactly why this diet works for me....im actually SCARED to have carb-up because I can't be bothered waiting 2 more days to get back into ketosis!
Everytime I look at something semi-non ketogenic, I think...."Ive got to waste 2 days to get back into Keto just for that"
Plus:
- I never feel hungry. Ive probably been on keto for almost 2 months and Ive probably had a few days where I was in starving mode. On a normal diet I would be in starving hunger mode DAILY.
- Loss of water weight
- The amazement on peoples faces at work when they notice ive been gorging on cheese, butter and eggs at work all day for the last 2 months and havent gained any weight.

good tasting foods, not hungry all the time, easier to overeat carbs... so it limits that, but my favorite part is the fact u dont hold on to water weight.

My favorite thing about Keto is Carb-ups.

I can't lose weight on anything else. Same calories, more protein, less fat, more carbs... nothing happens. I did 6 weeks non-keto @ 1800 calories, normal lifting routine, 4 hours of cardio and didn't drop a pound.
Same calories on a keto diet i can drop almost a pound a week.
It sucks, but whatever.

I love that it is easier to prep for, the food tastes better, and, in my experience, it is cheaper to shop for.

BEST Things:
- Control blood sugar level (no peaks and valleys) - don't get sleepy after a meal
- Don't get carb cravings or hunger pains
- Steady fat loss
WORST things:
- Bad breath
- Excessive pissing (water goes right through me).

OK, gosh... where do I start?
Bacon, eggs, mozzarella, mayonnaise, steak, cheesecake (keto), pepperoni, blue cheese dressing, peanut butter, almonds, pork crackle... Yes, I have always been a fatty food junky... but hey, now it's working for me
Also, down 3.7 kg and 1.4% BF in first 8 days... I had been stuck at my previous weight plateauing for over 6 weeks on that useless 40/40/20 P/C/F diet I was on. That has got to be the best part about keto.
One last thing... The look on my colleagues faces when they see me losing weight while eating cheese and mayonaise washed down with a piece of cheesecake... priceless.
