For anyone interested I make my own olive oil, from 50 year old trees, no fertilizers used 0,1 acidity.

So coconut oil has a stonger Test boosting effect but olive oil is better at increasing testicular weight? Is that what can be derived from the linked study?

What does ball weight mean, anyway? Especially if the coconut oil is causing larger increases in test. I too dont understand why this topic is lauding olives when the coconut seems to be cast in a more favorable light.

I suppose the best option would be to make use of both oils, liberally, in ones daily diet? If nothing else, a dense source of extra calories I suppose

were the differences statistically signficant? if not then you should not draw any conclusions

I don't get it either, I assume people may see olive oil as the better fat in general. That would probably atleast be the case over here in Europe. Personally I would rather like to know if it's fat acid specific or because of some other bioactive compound in the oils. I assume the former.

In any case I prefer nuts and seeds well over oils. Can't understand people drinking tablespoons or deciliters of oils just to get extra energy. Why not consume some almonds, cashews, pecans or pumpkin seeds instead? Tahini? Taste so much better, is more nutritious and everything. Oil is still kinda crap, even if some fats are essential.

I should eat more hummus instead of peanutbutter. Chick peas + tahini + garlic + lemon juice + spices. Tastes really good, decent fats, some protein, a nice way to get some garlic and antioxidant rich spices and so on.

Imho it's ****ing stupid to just drink oil.

Dripple it on some bread instead of butter?

Use it in kale sallads or when you cook your carrots and such to increase vitamine uptake.

Or eat whole olives with cottage cheese or in sallads or with some meat or something.

Or if it's just some fat acids which are interesting find a whole food which is rich in it and eat that instead. Like maybe brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds work to? The later ones have lots of zinc and vitamin e I think, among other things.

Saturated fat is not the great evil it's been trumped up to be. Especially monosaturated fat, which is what coconut oil is. It's good for you.

You'd have to eat a $hit-ton of raw coconut or coconut milk to get an equivalent amount of coconut oil. But it's doable.

Whole foods sells a Coconut Butter in various incarnations (chocolate, with superfoods) that's NOMalicious, and is a good source of the oil.

Sorry, couldn't resist using that gif.

All I know is, since I started eating a lot of fat all around, I've experienced increases in aggression, strength, leanness, muscularity, sex drive.... I won't claim to have been measuring the boys though. But If i had to guess, I'd say they were a might bigger than before.

Swollen with pride, you might say.

Okay, so let me try to get this straight, because after reading the thread I'm still a little confused. Is coconut the best oil to consume for the most efficient testosterone boost, and if so how much is recommended daily?

The more fat you eat, the more testosterone your body produces. More fat, more testosterone. The best source of testosterone boosting fat, Argentinean researchers concluded a year ago after a study on rats, is olive oil. The same researchers have now published the results of another animal study in Lipids,
which shows how olive oil increases the production of testosterone. Olive oil helps the testes to absorb more cholesterol.

The researchers, working at the Instituto de Investigaciones Bioquimicas de La Plata, did an experiment with male rats. For sixty days, the rats were given feed to which seventy grams of soya oil [S], olive oil [O], coconut oil [C] or grapeseed oil [G] per kilogram had been added. At the end of the period the researchers measured how much testosterone the animals were producing. The figure below shows that coconut oil and olive oil were the best testosterone boosters.

The testes of the rats that had had olive oil added to their feed were also heavier. Because the grapeseed oil diet produced the same results as the soya oil diet, we have left that column out of the table below.

The Argentineans described how this happens a year ago. Olive oil and coconut oil increase the activity of the 3beta-HSD and 17beta-HSD enzymes. These are involved in the manufacture of testosterone. Olive oil and coconut oil also raise the concentration of the body?s own antioxidants in the Leydig cells, which produce testosterone. In the present study, the researchers went a step further. They found a relationship between the diet, the amount of free cholesterol in the Leydig cells and the testosterone level.

The Leydig cells make testosterone from cholesterol. A diet that is rich in coconut oil or olive oil apparently helps the cells to absorb more cholesterol. The cells are also more able to extract the cholesterol from its ester. The more free cholesterol a Leydig cell has available, and the less estered cholesterol there is in a cell, the higher the rate of testosterone production.

So natural athletes could optimise their testosterone production by making olive oil their main form of fat. Another nutritional strategy that might help is to eat cranberries. Cranberries increase the uptake of cholesterol by the testes.

    Lipids. 2009 Apr;44(4):345-57.

Wow, from now one, at least 100 ml of olive oil a day for me!

    Any studies on the cranberries?

I actually have considered canning oats and wheat rolls and having cranberry juice as my sole source of carbs every days.
