Anyone Here Use CHI Hair Products?
Since the idiots who handle CHI's e-mail don't bother to respond, I'll ask my question here.
I recently purchased CHI 44 Iron Guard. From what I understand, one must never use a flatiron on wet or damp hair; it must be completely dry. Yet, the instructions on the 44 Iron Guard say to "spray onto dry hair and then start using your flatiron." Problem is, after the 44 Iron Guard is sprayed onto my hair, it's no longer dry; it makes it damp. I'm wondering if I'm following the instructions correctly, or am I missing something? Is it OK to use my flatiron on damp hair???

i dont use CHI products, but i do straighten my hair often.
i always make sure my hair is dry before starting, to ensure that i dont singe any hair.
maybe you should dry your hair with a hair dryer prior to using your flatiron.

I've been using the iron guard for a while and I love it. You're hair does get a bit damp but I haven't noticed any damage. I see a little steam when I use the iron after spraying, but its just evaporation- not frying my hair or anything. You'll be fine.

^Exactly... I don't put anything in because the quality of the CHI iron makes it so your hair isn't being riped out unlike other cheap straighteners. After I'm done I put a little spray of ION smoothing spray to make my hair shiny. I hate putting any product in my hair honestly... I just think they make it it harder to straighten your hair and they also leave it greasy and yucky!
Good luck

But, see, that's the problem. I do blow dry my hair prior to using my flatiron. But the Iron Guard is to be sprayed on dry hair, which I spray on after I blow it dry. And then, it's damp again after I spray on the Iron Guard. See?

spray it on before you blow dry your hair then so that your drying it off as your blow drying your hair...
i put a protein treatment in my hair before i straighten it (i have really fine hair and it gets knotty really easily so the protein helps smooth it out) and i apply that to damp hair and then i dry my hair and then use my ghd to straighten it, works wonders and i dont damage my hair that way.

Oh I see, spray it before blowdrying it then. I don't think it will make a difference.

How often do you flat iron your hair? What temperature setting do you use? I am not a huge fan of heat protectants but I am afraid my curls won't revert back if I just flat iron my naked blow dried hair.
