Is eating at your BMR the right amount for a Cut?

I don't want to eat too much below maintenance, cause for a time I was eating about 1500 calories. I heard you should never go below 10% under your BMR. So my BMR is 2273, so would eating 2300 calories be right for me if I want to cut? I'm 6'4 227/18.1% bf.

    Thanks

People usually seem to go anywhere from 300-1000 below maintenance on a cut.

Subtract 15% from your maintenance. If you see results, stick with that caloric deficit, otherwise you may need to tweak it a bit.

Test for a week or two to see what happens, if you drop between 1-2lbs/week you are on the right track, more loss you should increase calories.
No change then that's your maintenance.
It depends on alot of factors really, activity level is of a great importance, Intensity as well, When I workout for 6 days a week, I need around 3500cals to maintain.

I ate in the upper 2300 calories this past week, doing 3 days HIIT, 3 days weight training...went from 230 to 227.5

is that too much fat loss in a week?

No, that's a good margin, keep at it then.
