Does anybody here workout at anytime fitness?
They just opened one near the house and I was wondering if anybody here belonged to one? What are your thoughts on the facility? I am gonna get a 7 day pass and check them out but ws hoping for some info from others who do or did belong being they are a national chain.

First post...
I just recently joined one close to my home ( 5 mins. away). I searched these forums for Anytime Fitness and found alot of neg comments about them. There are so many of them and they are all privately owned. None of them are set up the same way. I have only been in two of them, and was very pleased to find that they had everything that I need. Do yourself a favor and have a look inside all of the ones that you might end up working out in to see if they meet your needs.
The two I have been inside have everything...plenty of cable equipment, leverage machines, power racks, smith machines, plenty of benches, hack sled etc...tons of free weights, 2 sets of DB's that go up to 150lbs, too much stuff to list, plus plenty of the eliptical, treadmill, bike, stairclimber machines. ( I do not use any cardio machines at the momment).
The gym by me is perfect for me because i can go workout "anytime" I want, and because it is open 24/7 there there are less people in the gym at all times. I have never had to wait on anything...I work out mainly 5pm to 7pm.

I Do
This is my 12th month of membership.
It's the only gym I've ever been a member of so, it's hard to be objective.
There are two in my area we use. Both are always clean. They have a good balance of machines and free weights, treadmills, ect. The showers are a plus.
The security buttons for women are a nice touch if a lady is working out by herself, but I've never seen them used. If it's pretty late or pretty early and a female and I are the only ones there and I get ready to leave, I just hand them one and say "here you might need this." Better for them to think I'm a jerk than need it and not have it.
The only real downside I've found may be petty, but the music's always too loud to encourage conversation. Some people may like that though.

Gym I belonged to was clean, lots of up to day equpiments nothing old etc, showers were well taken care of etc.
My gripe was thier billing process they liked to double bill, bill late then charge me a late fee ( I had auto withdraw from my bank account) then when I terminated my membership after my contract was up it took them 4 months to stop withdrawing from my account, when I terminated thier ability to withdraw they attempted to bill me and charge late fee's.

Had one open up down the road so I stopped by and signed up for the week pass---Then the high pressure sales tactics started so I never joined or even got to work out there. The place looked clean but with all the posters in the window you wouldn't know without actually goin in and then they start the sales pitches. If you like the $ and don't mind contracts it looks like a clean/nice gym.

I guess its all in which one you go to and who the owner is. I was very happy with the way my membership was handled. The only contract I have is for 3 months at a set rate...after 3 months I can continue at the set rate for month to month...but I plan on extending my contract to a year so my rate goes down, plus I really love the gym.

Mine's got a power cage. And no, nobody curls in it.
I like Anytime Fitness. No waiting for equipment for the most part. No problem with billing, it's direct to my credit card. Ample parking. Close to home. The only downside is no lockers. But there's cubby holes for gym bags out in the open so everybody keeps an eye on them.
