I'm looking through the ISSA manual for Specialist in Fitness Nutrition (SFN) and am curious about one of the formulas.
For someone who exercises 3-4 times per week, it says to take current body weight * 12 or 14 to get the proper calories for weight loss.
It seems like the value is kind of high when compared to Harris Benedict and Mifflin.
Or maybe I'm doing my math wrong?
Thanks for anyone who can shed some light.
(No, this is not for homework or an exam! LOL Just trying to incorporate what I'm learning and making sure I'm using valid info)

How does it compare with the other ISSA formulas.
Also, the Harris Benedict and Mifflin determine BMR, not the daily caloric requirements (I'm open to correction on this. It's been a while)Last edited by Environ; 09-09-2009 at 05:51 AM.
