Rpaul's Zeus Fusion Log
Hello everybody. I am off today and I walked down to get the mail to find that my package from Fusion Bodybuilding has arrived.
Inside I found two bottles of the Zeus Test Booster http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/fus/zeus.html
as well as 6 samples of Shut Eye
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/fus/shuteye.html
Right now I think I am going to hold off on taking the shut eye as one of my interestes is in how the Zeus will effect my sleep.
A little about me.
40 years old
6'4"
226 lbs when I woke this am. weigh pretty much fluxuates from the low 220's to upper 220's
I was an athlete in high school and college so I did lift for sports when I was younger. I continued working out off and on, but after I got married and had a child it became much more off than on. IN December of 2007 I found myself at 265 lbs and FAT. I started working out again and during the course of that 2 sustained 2 pretty serious injuries. one lifting related and one not...but both had a big effect on what I could do as far as training. I managed to get my weight down to about 205 lbs at my lowest point but have gradually started to put on some muscle mass.
As far as my workouts go, I am doing a 4 day split
Day1 Chest/Tri
Day2 Back/Bi
off
Day3 Legs
Day4 Shoulders/traps/abs
off
off
I also run 2-4 miles on two of my off days. Besides that sometimes I'll do cardio after a workout, but more often I don't.
I will be running in a 5k race at the end of September then after that I may change my cardio type, but will still get in at least 2 good solid sessions per week.
Goals are to increase muscle mass while maintaining cardiovascular conditioning.
As far as diet I eat a clean diet consisting of lean meats, complex carbs, and vegetables. I eat in the 2800-3000 cals per day range and I try to be flexible in that I am not a competitive bodybuilder and I realize that if I'm bulking and I have a cheat meal 2 or 3 times a week it won't kill me as long as I don't go overboard.
I'd like to keep my weigh under 230 pounds through this test of Zeus so I may be making some slight adjustments to diet if I find the weight going on too quickly.
I'll get up some pics and measurements here shortly.
I am scheduled to run either tonight or tomorrow (3 miles or more) and I am scheduled to workout on Sunday and Monday.
The reason I do the 4 day split is because with my wife's work schedule and having a young child, I often have to be a little flexible with my routine. Some weeks I may do all 4 days back to back with 3 days off at the end of the week. Others I may not get started until Monday. (sunday is day 1 of my normal workout week). By doing the split the way I do it...I can be assured that I can get in 4 solid workouts no matter what goes on with our schedules.

thanks to both of you for following along.
As for dosage, my weight indicates that I should take 3 caps for my first dose and 2 for my second. that will make the log run less than 8 weeks...I have sent a PM to the Zeus rep do see if this is how he wants me to dose.

you are correct...you should hear what happened at 11 PM
ok....I said I'd try and keep this thread pretty serious so here goes.
Yesterday I was not anticipating the supps coming in so I wasn't really tracking my meals. That along with some pretty big real life annoyances caused my nutrition to suffer. Not so much me eating bad foods, but not eating enough
my calories and macros are as follows...these are estimates for yesterday...but be assured that they are pretty close.
2145 calories
224protein
96carbs
94fats
Just took dose #2 of my zeus. 3 pills per my weight according to label instructions.
Had a good breakfast...will post foods for the day later.

Got it...thanks for the reply.
Ok....so today is my first full day with Zeus
Took 3 caps in the AM with breakfast as reccomended on the bottle per my weight.
Breakfast
Protein Pancake made from
2 whole eggs
one cup whites,
1/2 cup oats,
cinnamon to taste,
2 packets splenda with sugar free syrup
cooked in 1 tbsp olive oil
Meal 2
2 scoop whey
1 scoop waxy maize
Meal 3
5.5 oz chicken breast on
2 slices of whole wheat bread
3 cups lettuce
1 tbsp olive oil with balsamic vinegar
Meal 4
Chicken and vegetable omlet made from
2 whole eggs
1/3 cup egg whites
1.5 oz chicken
1 handful stir fry veggies
cooked in 1 tbsp olive oil
Meal 5 (cheat meal)
5 buffalo chicken wings
2 baked potato skins with cheese and very little bacon
Greek salad with balsamic vinegrette dressing
Meal 6
1 cup cottage cheese
with meal 6 I will take 2 capsules of Zeus
]edit to add
3181 calories
279protein
160carb
156fat
Exercise for today
Run 3.6 miles. I forgot to time it but I know it was just no earlier than 8:28 pm when I started and I was back sitting in my truck at 8:59. SO just about 30 minutes.
Tomorrow will be chest and tri day
to this point I really don't have a great opinion on the product. What I can say is that during my run I really got a good second wind about 2.5 miles in and the last 1/4 to 1/2 mile was almost enjoyable.
Legs feel good and looking forward to a strong workout in the morning.

Today was chest/tri day
I said last week that I wasn't liking the incline cable flies so I bumped them and replaced them with one arm HS incline press. Doing the extra press hurt my weights on my tricep exercises...but that could be expected.
DB incline press
2x10x80
1x9x80
1x8x80
going to move at least a few sets to 85's next week
Bench press
1x10x165
1x6x165
1x8x155
1x7x155
HS incline press 1 arm (plates weight per side)
1x9x60
1x7x60
1x9x55
Dips (weighted)
1x10x10lbs
1x7x10
1x6x10
CGBP
1x9x90 (form sucked)
1x10x70 (much better)
1x8x70
1 arm cable pressdown with rope
1x5x35 (too heavy)
1x9x30
Dropset the last set
1x8x30
1x9x20
Bench Dips at bodyweight
15
11
Woke up this morning and took my Zeus with my eggs and oats, waited an hour and went to the gym. Strength was up on my presses from last week but nothing out of the ordinary. But..its only been 4 doses
I am sleeping more soundly, but not sleeping through the night. Hopefully this continues.
No other noticeable effects at this time.

thanks Carl. I'm real happy with how things are going for me. Hopefully this run of Zues will give me a good edge above what I could have done without.

thanks Bill
ok, I already posted todays workout. Now for todays nutrition. It was not so great but being I was asked to do a journal on this product...I must be upfront about it.
Meal 1
2 eggs
1c egg whites
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2c oats
Meal 2
5 oz red potatoes
1/2 large onion
2 eggs
1 scoop whey
Meal 3
3c lettuce
2 cans tuna
2 tbsp olive oil and vinegar
Didn't really have a meal 4. I basically grazed on raw veggies most of the afternoon
I also ate about 8 of those gumdrops in a ring shape and one cookie
1 beer
Meal 5
2 rather large hamburger patties whic I estimate to be about 1/3 pound pre cooked weight.
1 hamburger bun
a green bean salad with beans, tomatos onions and some sort of dressing
green salad with tomato, egg, chicken cubes, olive and balsamic vinegrette dressing
Meal 6
1c cottage cheese.
all I know for sure is that I have in about 225g protein. other than that would be a guess.

1x11x135
1x8x150
1x7x150
1x10x125
Rack pulls
1x10x275
1x10x325
1x5x335 (felt pull in lower back when putting down on the 5th rep...form broke so Stop)
lower weight to 315 and strap in....feel pain while strapping.....unstrap...not worth it.
SPider curls
1x10x70
1x9x70
1x6x70
Cable incline curl
1x10x62.5
2x9x62.5
Would usually do a set of rack runs on DB curls here...but I didn't want to stress the back any more.
Gonna shower and ice now.
took my 3 Zeus this morning with breakfast. Still nothing to brag about on any levels...but again...its only been since friday eve. Last night my sleep sucked.
due to the back being tweaked a little I am debating leaving out SLDL's on Wednesday's leg day...if I do...I will do another round of leg curls in a different variety.

no workout scheduled today. I should be running, but I will instead just nurse my back. Went to the chiropractor this am and got adjusted....yeah...I'll say it was out
all should be good in a day or so
I've altered my routine for this week only. Tomorrow I will do my shoulder/trap workout instead of legs to give the back a little more rest. Will do legs on Friday.
Took my 3 zeus caps with breakfast today as scheduled.

Take care of that back Rich. Injury is never a good thing and was glad to see some restraint in stopping the sets. Something I had to learn a lot more this year.
