Insulin spike

Would 200 calories 56 grams of sugar be too much too drink after a workout for an insulin spike?

or would 125 calories 35 grams of sugar be enough?

As long as you ate a preworkout meal, you dont need a shake right after, just eat a meal once you settle down after the workout.

Why are you trying to achieve an insulin spike? Do you think you will get better results in burning fat or muscle gain by doing so?

A relatively lower increase in insulin elevation has been shown to be better at maximizing protein synthesis, so I don't understand why you would want to eat so much sugar. The 'post-workout insulin-spike' is vastly overrated and basically useless, as is the Glycemic Index.

I would suggest you focus more on your total daily calories and macros, and continuously adding weight to your lifts if muscle growth is your goal.

I like to down a protein shake and a carb drink right after working out...

And then eat a balanced meal with complex carbs, protein, fat, 1-2 hours after working out.

It also helps with downing more calories if I drink the "secret formula" after working out.
