For those who eat a pre-workout meal that doesn't contain carbs, what is it?
Also, when do you eat it relative to when you work out? Just curious, speaking as a person who either works out fasted or with a P+C meal before.

Due to my cutting diet, i don't really have a specific pre-workout meal.
Last night it was 8oz of fish and veggies pre.

Pre workout
Bulk - 30g whey 60g oats
Cut - 30g whey 30g pb
I find on a cut i have more energy through the training session with fats rather than carbs.

My dinner was about an hour and a half before heading to the gym. But right before i left i would take 1 big tablespoon of coconut oil. Works great.

Well, because of my work schedule, I'm normally going about an hour after breakfast, which is at about 10:30. I'm at the gym at 11:30-12:00.
Mine consist of 3 eggs, 1/2 oatmeal, banana/fruit, and 2 slices Canadian bacon.

I would think that many people just do the whey+water thing.

carbs are a must for me preworkout...maybe its psychological but I can feel the energy during my entire workout if I have had oats or even a banana just before it..
