whats up guys. my son is 13 years old on the football team. he has some of the best natural athletic ability on the team but he's just too thin. he's 5 ft 85 lb's soaking wet. i preach to him that to be one of the best he's gotta get solid. any other guys here around that age with some tips? i'm trying to get him to be a gym rat like his dad..

could be time to start incorporating compound lifts and basic workouts
Bench Press, Squats, Deadlifts, Shoulder Press
teach him great form or if you cant try to get someone who can. light weights and so forth
but if he doesn't want to then don't push it too hard, just let him have fun, it's 7th grade"Giving your best is more important than being the best."
I train as an athlete, not a bodybuilder.
REPS for SUBS.

Use any sports role models he has as motivation. He is young though and most people don't become gym rats until at least high school ... but the second somebody sees results they can get hooked.
