    wot about if the lid was of for about 8 -10 hours ? of a new container my cousin left the lid off my new on double chocolate container

    There's nothing anhydrous in most proteins and therefore they don't really absorb water at all from the air.

    I wouldn't really worry about it if you just left the lid off for a few hours. Although I did have some flavoured whey protein in my room that I stopped using, but when I ran out of my weight gainer a few weeks ago I went back to my old whey protein. Now I don't know why as I had left the lid on properly and I don't think it was past its expiry date but it smelled of sweaty feet and tasted worse than sweaty feet!

    Should be fine. I hate keeping mine exposed to the air though, because it usually becomes drier than how it came in the packaging. Otherwise, shouldn't matter.
