Hurting bad
I haven't been posting too terribly long in this section, but appreciate the knowledge, experience, and advice that so many here have to offer. I was called out of my classroom this afternoon to recieve the news that my nephew had committed suicide this morning. I don't presently know what I'm thinking or feeling, other than complete and utter pain of heart. My brother will be completely devasted, his only child, one son. For those of you who believe in prayer, I would appreciate it greatly. I will be driving 6 hours to be with family. I don't quite feel up to it at present to be truthful.

Oh man....very sorry to hear of this paolo59.
I'd feel numb myself.
I can't help you in the 'prayer' dept but will offer my honest condolences for the loss and grief you and your family will endure.
Respectfully....

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Later on when the shock starts to fade a bit, 6 month or a year, your brother might want to try a support group. The death of a child at any age, regardless of the cause, is always a tough one.
Your family is on my prayers. RIP.

Gabriel Lynn. I don't know many details yet. He's gone. I am heartsick. I am deeply worried about my brother, his name is David. My sister-in-law is a very strong woman, from what I understand, she's a rock in this horrible moment, but David will be out of his mind with grief and confusion. It concerns me terribly how this will effect him. All I can do at the moment is pace the floor, cry, and wait for more information. I'll leave for Oklahoma sometime this evening.

Absolutely, I will be lifting David in particular in prayer. There are no words to offer at this time other than, allow the grief to carry you where it may, be there to listen to your brother and come here for the emotional support you need.
Praying fervently on your behalf.
Travel safely.

Very sorry about your loss and all of you will be on my mind and thoughts. As far as your sister-in-law goes sometimes there will be someone in the family that comes across very strong and like a rock because they feel the need to take care of everyone before they take care of them self, often these people get their pain over looked. Please keep an eye on her also.

So sorry to hear this. It is real important now to help your brother not blame himself. Its very common for a parent to think "if only I did this or that". He has to know its not his fault. Its hard to understand why people take their own lives and your brotehr will be looking for anything he may have said or done but he must know its not his or his wife's fault.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family - I can not imagine the pain of losing your child - I have come close and still have nightmares over it.
As a parent I find myself in tears for your bothers lose and for a young life cut short -
Be strong, caring and pray.
