    deadlift- staggered grip

what are your thoughts about deadlifting with staggered grip vs non staggered?

from the limited knowledge i have i know that i can lift more weight and have great control..

what i am wanting to know is are there any dangers of spraining a tendon or straining a forearm/bicep muslce with this grip?

will it under-develop any muscles whatso ever if you dont alternate your hands with the staggered grip?

This is how i hold all my deadlifts over 400lbs. Its a very tight grip. There is a slight chance you can hurt your bicep doing this hold. But that only if your trying to curl the weight with that arm.Just be smart well doing this hold and you wont get hurt. There is always a chance of getting hurt well doing any sport.Just use good form everytime.

I would alternate which hand is palm down and palm up each set. This will even out the torque the mixed grip puts on your spine and also even out any muscular imbalance that may take place.

If you aren't going to enter a power lifting meet, I'd suggest double over hand grip, and use straps if your grip fails. Mixed grip, although people love to recommend it, because they are "hardkore!!!" and "straps are for pussies", can lead to problems. Ranging from simple trap imbalance to the worst case scenario of a bicep tendon tear.

As far as forearm stimulation goes. Only use straps for your heaviest sets, that require them, and then allot some time to hit your forearms with isolation work.

I use a mixed grip on my heaviest sets only. Otherwise, it's double overhand.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

I use overhand all the time i'd rather keep my grip strength up.

On my heavy set though it sometimes starts to lose strength when i've gone up in weight but when I place the weight on the ground I quickly grab the bar properly again and continue the set.
