Powertec/bodysolid squat leverage ceiling height
I'm looking to pickup either a powertec L-SC or a Bodysolid GSCL360 squat machine, but I have a very low ceiling in the room it would have to go in.. Just wondering if anyone who has either of these machines knows the ceiling height requirement. I realize it depends on the users height(5' 11") + however high up it is. I've never used one before but it looks like you lean back a decent amount which would take away a little height.
Leaning towards the BodySolid, price looks about the same from a few places. Not sure why, just looks a little more sturdy to me.
Thanks

What's your ceiling height? Your butt is going to be pushed out a bit, but you're slightly elevated.....may be a wash.
If you are getting new, I'd go with the bodysolid as well. I have the powertec and don't hate it, but it has some quality control issues. I haven't seen the bodysolid, but I have had 2 pieces of their new (dark gray color) equipment and can say that it is truly well made and engineered equipment. I can only imagine the lev. squat follows this trend as well because it is in the same line. I saw it on sams club's website for $470 including shipping. Not cheap enough for me to sell mine and move up, but maybe good for some one who wants a new one.

I have the body solid and, Keet is right, it is just about a wash. I am 5'10" and I would say if your ceiling height is over 80" you will be fine. You actually stand taller doing calf raises rather than squats.
The body solid is very well put together and I would reccomend it to anyone. I would search a little for a used one first. I only paid $200 for mine and I'm not sure I would pay any more than that for it.
ll-ll NOBODY SAID BODYBUILDING WAS EASY ll-ll

If I ever find a bodysolid for $200, there will be a Powertec unit for sale in CTown.

The room my gym is in is under a sunken room above it, so the ceiling height is really really hurting. But it's an entire room i can do whatever with since its basically a wasted space.
The height to the joists is only about 75 1/2" but i was hoping i could line it up so my head was between a bay which there is about 84 1/2" height and the plates would be on the bays on the side. I really need to measure one in person to see if it would work though.

I can measure mine, but it'll take a bit. Can't get to it right now and I'm going to work out here shortly. I can try to take some measurements after I'm done since my wo partner will be here and can help me. I'll even measure it with him on it as he's six foot tall.

That would be awesome. No rush, whenever you get a chance. Really appreciate it
