    hardcore massage 5 days out?

    Hi people with knowledge,

I?m currently 4 weeks out from the RIBBF competition in Ireland. Which means I only have three weeks of intense training left. When it becomes 6-5 days out, would it be a good idea to get a full body deep tissue massage?

Fortunately I?m injury free at the moment, still holding 7% bodyfat and like every competitor would like to appear a little bigger.

Can any explain the benefits or negatives of a deep tissue massage before a contest?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is way to close to your show.

Do it 10-14 days prior at the latest.

Massage causes tissue damage. This in turn causes inflammation. Sometimes this inflammation can last 2-3 days. Not what you want right before a show.
